What are your favorite compilation games on Switch?

There are a lot of collections coming out on Switch in the near future. With the recent release of [Sonic Origins](https://youtu.be/ngkWIPuLfrU), a collection of 4ish classic Sonic games packed with a ton of extras and challenges, along with the upcoming [Klonoa collection](https://youtu.be/qIauBEE34gw) due for next week and [Portal](https://youtu.be/wMQASUA_1Do) after that, I think now is a good time to bring other compilations into the spotlight. Many have been available on other platforms for years and some even in different collections, but the Switch allows a lot of these classic games to be taken with you anywhere you go. I’m gonna highlight a couple that I own from first and third party developers, and I’d like to know what your highlights were that I didn’t manage to pick up on.

**1. [Super Mario 3D All Stars](https://youtu.be/CPJcaGWoO2c):** This is the one that I’m assuming most Switch owners have picked up by now. As a collection it’s disappointingly barebones, with a music player as the only extra to go along with the included games. Still the three included games are excellent in their own right, even with the obvious exclusion of Galaxy 2. I haven’t played Sunshine at all prior to this version, but I think it controls better than Mario 64 and even Galaxy to an extent. Of course Galaxy is still the king in my eyes.

**2. [Mega Man Legacy Collection](https://youtu.be/Au36nktJESo):** I own all the Mega Man collections on Switch, but I’m just gonna highlight the first one for now. This is a collection of the first six classic Mega Man games and was originally released in 2015. It had a comprehensive database of character profiles, archival content, and remix challenges along with Amiibo support that unlocked extra exclusive challenges. However the 3DS version had a nasty screen tearing bug that was never patched out. Thankfully the Switch version has all of aforementioned features, plus a rewind button and removed the bug completely. Thank god.

**3. [Castlevania Advance Collection](https://youtu.be/O5KIHngxiBk):** The second Castlevania collection to hit the Switch after 2019’s Anniversary Collection which I also own. This set brings together Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow along with Dracula X and a whole suite of filters, concept art, and QOL features. Finally a version of Circle of the Moon I can actually see! And Aria of Sorrow is still the best Igavania after Symphony of the Night in my opinion. And thank Dracula for the rewind feature because Dracula X needed it. If you’re a fan of Metroidvanias and yet somehow haven’t picked this one up, I highly recommend it. Now all we need is a friggin DS collection.

**4. [Mighty Switch Force Collection](https://youtu.be/RNGwBaJx-us):** This is probably the one on this list you’ll know the least about. Mighty Switch Force is a series of puzzle platformers from developer WayForward, the studio behind Shantae and who also worked on remakes for games like Ducktales and Advance Wars (which I also plan to get). If you played Officer Mode in Shantae Half Genie Hero, that was basically an appetizer for Mighty Switch Force. This series was a highlight for many in the early days of the 3DS eShop, and now the whole series is back on Nintendo Switch for everyone to enjoy. The first two games of the four included are the original and remastered versions of MSF1, whereas the other two are Mighty Switch Force 2 and the multiplayer focused Mighty Switch Force Academy. All of them have fantastic head bopping soundtracks courtesy of Shantae composer Jake Kaufman, and if you dig puzzle games I’m sure you’ll get something out of this one.

Some other collections I feel are worth checking out are Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (even if the netcode isn’t that great), and the original Super Mario All Stars on NSO. So what are your highlights?
