[13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim](https://www.gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/13-Sentinels-Aegis-Rim-PV_01-09-19.jpg) is an adventure/real time strategy game released on Switch earlier this year by Vanillaware.
Sakurai described the game like this:
>‘The presentation of a characteristic adventure scenario: The stories in movies and novels are basically “lines.” Sound Novels (type of adventure game) add a vertical axis, making it a 2D plane. The scenario in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is three-dimensional, as if it were 3D.
>There are 13 protagonists, and they are from different eras. At first, it was confusing and difficult to grasp, but as you continue to play, you’ll become more immersed and enjoy it more as your understanding increases. You’ll also become surprised at its depth.
>The potential in this method of presentation is endless. However, it’s generally not possible to imitate it. It’s wholly unique.
>There’s never been a work like this before, and I don’t think there’ll be a continuation, either. If you want to play it, it has to be now!

I also want to say that visually speaking it’s possibly the best looking game on the Switch OLED screen, the artstyle is gorgeous and it really pops with the richer colors of the OLED.
