In hindsight, I shouldn’t be surprised that all of Lillie’s units have positive matchups for this stage. Aside from being DeNA’s favorite, one of her Pokemon is literally called the emissary of the moon, so of course she was gonna do well against Cresselia. But it’s still kinda funny to see all four of them do relatively well in a notoriously difficult Legendary Arena, so I figured I’d compile a video featuring each of Lillie’s units.
Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

I really overlooked SC Lillie’s Gauntlet utility – she is fantastic in keeping the team healthy with all of her sustain, especially against special damage-heavy arenas like Cresselia, Latias, and Tornadus. I was initially annoyed that it would be almost impossible to quad-queue with her, but that matters much less in Gauntlet than in CSMM. Even at 1/5, she still has great buffs to give around, and she even has Lithe to block Thunder Wave. Clemont takes advantage of those buffs so that his sync nuke lets the team ignore the Bar 2 Toxic, while I completed the team with Strike Kangaskhan since I had enough sustain to go around. She’s a physical damage-dealing Piercing Gaze unit, after all, which is quite rare.

Moongeist Beam ignores the Brain Barrier at Bar 1 so Anni Lillie can solo-strike this stage, which means that the two remaining slots are free to address all of Cresselia’s other gimmicks. Status Immunity Lana was the natural choice since she activates the master passive and Wide Guard lets her block an Icy Wind, and while I would normally run SS Misty for the type skill, I went with Darach instead for the team-wide Speed buffs. I focused on getting Moongeist Beam tiles on Lillie’s grid to help deal with that first HP bar more quickly, though I wonder if I should’ve gotten some sync tiles to help with the latter bars.

NY Lillie is one of the select few units who can block all types of statuses – not just Cresselia’s Go Viral 9 Thunder Wave, but Bug-weak Hau’s Hostile Environment 6 Discharge too. Her being a crit buffer is the cherry on top, as it makes her potential teammates a lot more flexible for this stage. I went with Champion Iris as she addresses pretty much every other gimmick this stage has to offer, with her titanic sync nuke being able to ignore Brawn Barrier. With the third slot pretty free, I went with Support Munchlax, as he had Sp Def buffs to help the team tank as well as some Attack buffs for Champion Iris.

Base Lillie is one of the more straightforward answers to Cresselia’s evasion buffs, and she even has Antitoxin to ignore the Bar 2 Toxic. She supports Dark-type besties Fall Hilbert and Summer N here – got the latter from some yolo multis I did before his banner went away, though that’s not without spending some paid gems on that step-up banner and getting nothing haha. Since they’re both on-type this was pretty much a breeze, although I definitely have to practice getting N’s sync cycles right to make the most out of Super Syncer and Sync Freebie.
