I’ve already been using him in the last few videos, but I wanted to do a showcase on him since I’m still baffled at how good BP Clemont’s kit is. There is so much utility in it that it could honestly pass for a super voucher unit. And if you ask me, I think he’s on the same level as Cobalion and Mesprit in terms of sheer utility. I try to use as many of his niches as possible here, and I don’t even get to all of them as I don’t use his Synchro Healing build.

Tech Parasect is one of my favorite eggmons since paralysis + Defense debuffs comes in very handy for a lot of Gauntlet rotations, and Clemont has that and a lot more. He supports fellow new BP unit Sophocles here, who I’m surprised is actually really good at handling the recoil from Wild Charge. Whitney completes the team with her flinches, and I picked her specifically since she also has Defense debuffs and paralysis.

Very notably, BP Clemont is our first F2P unit that can boost the team’s accuracy. Quite a lot of early-game strikers appreciate this, with Bruno being one of them. While he has ways to patch up his own accuracy through his grid, running him with accuracy support frees up energy for him to get more multipliers instead. Clemont even has Sp Def buffs for Smart Cookie. Support Primeape completes the team to activate the type skill and hasten Bruno’s offensive buffs.

He plays a similar role to the clear before this, except this uses Clemont’s Defense buffs instead to activate Brock’s Tough Cookie. I also wanted to bring up another perk Clemont has as a Defense debuffer – Charging Infliction 2, which is a guaranteed 2-gauge refill whenever he uses Screech. That’s incredible for supporting slow damage-dealers, and you’ll see here that I rely on it to keep the sync countdown going. That double-flinch at the end was annoying, but I’m glad the team pushed through.

On top of everything mentioned above, Clemont also has Electrorepulsion 3 and Shock Recovery 1, which makes him a fantastic tank under Electric Terrain. There just so happens to be an EBE right now that encourages its use, so I brought him there to tank the stage. Volkner gives him the terrain and also takes the syncs as he’s the one with the multiplier. Sonia takes on a more damage-dealing role here, which is why I got Insult to Injury from her grid, but her buffs and Potions are of course very much appreciated.
