Landing and flying with Nita (Unova Champion Stadium, Legendary Arenas) [Pokemon Masters EX]

0:00 – Vs. Ground-weak Shauntal: Nita / Clay / EX Ingo
2:02 – Vs. Flying-weak Marshal: Nita / Maxie / Support Sandslash
4:03 – Vs. Latios: Nita / Cynthia / Acerola
8:00 – Vs. Cresselia: Nita / EX Lear / BP Karen
11:43 – Vs. Latias: Nita / Strike Cubone / EX Ingo

Before anything else: If you’re deciding between Mesprit and Nita, I would go for Mesprit. I would actually rank Nita quite low among all the super BP pairs – probably just above Regirock – as I find the others’ kits a lot more useful.

That said, I do think people are understating her utility (myself included lol) when comparing her to the other free master pairs. A Turn 1 +4 boost on Attack and Speed is fantastic for CSMM, mimicking the likes of Elio and Lana. Taking that comparison further is Fly, which lets Nita dodge key attacks just like Sing and Wide Guard. This is especially useful for Gauntlet where the attacks are more predictable, and I talk more about this in my Falkner showcase (https://youtu.be/AoJLNztDUJc). Bulldoze is a bit of a shame in terms of gauge management, but it does give her some synergy with Cakewalk pairs, and I decided to double-down on her debuffs by giving her Defense Crush 2 as a lucky skill.

Here’s how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Ground-weak Shauntal: Nita / Clay / EX Ingo – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=003300053700&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=18040702&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQF&v1=020400064500&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040702&t1=41441&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=010800053000&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBhocHyEiIyYpKy0

Recorded this last week for an on-type clear. Clay appreciates pretty much everything Nita has to offer, right down to the speed debuffs to help his sync nuke. Ingo completes Clay’s buffs and makes Ground Teamwork even more effective, and he tanks for the stage as he’s a lot bulkier than Nita.

Vs. Flying-weak Marshal: Nita / Maxie / Support Sandslash – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=002820&s0=1&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41&n0=1&f0=0&v1=020400064500&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040702&t1=41441&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=019200038300&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=13016303&t2=44111&g2=AAECAwQFBgkMERQXGhscLi8

I know what you’re thinking, and no, I unfortunately don’t have Courtney. She’s the perfect third member of this team though as she activates both master passives. I went with Support Sandslash for the extra speed and better gauge management, and also because a Defense debuffer would’ve been no use since Sawk has Unbending.

Vs. Latios: Nita / Cynthia / Acerola – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=000700077000&s0=2&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=15010101&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBggKDBMaGx4jJCUnKCo&v1=020400064500&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040702&t1=41441&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=009100044500&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=13010602&t2=44114&g2=AAECAwQFERQXGBseICMkMDEyMw

Mostly wanted to run this for the Cynthia + Nita combo, and of course Cynthia needed the constant Sandstorm for Acerola. But running flinch here does hinder the effectiveness of Fly, as it messes up the turn order and could make Nita eat a move that she was meant to dodge. Still, her buffs and master passive boost is much appreciated here, and her healing does help top up the team before she goes down.

Vs. Cresselia: Nita / EX Lear / BP Karen – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=006200019700&s0=3&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=4411&g0=AAECAwQFBgkMDxEUFRgZGigq&v1=020400064500&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040702&t1=41441&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=006600072000&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=13010602&t2=444&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDhAVGBkcIy4v

Fly addresses the status conditions part of Cresselia’s gimmicks, while Lear addresses the evasion part with Snatch. BP Karen provides the physical damage, while Lear makes short work of the last two bars thanks to his moves. This ended up being down to the wire since I mistimed the use of Fly in the last part – it should’ve dodged Double-Edge instead – but at least it still worked haha.

Vs. Latias: Nita / Strike Cubone / EX Ingo – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=010510&s0=5&l0=140&r0=1&p0=0&a0=13016303&t0=44&n0=1&f0=0&v1=020400064500&s1=1&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040702&t1=41441&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v2=010800053000&s2=3&l2=140&r2=5&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBhMUFxgaHB8hIiMmKQ

I already used this team in a CSMM clear last week, but I figured I’d give them a Legendary Arena clear too. This is a bit too much for a Gauntlet team, but the synergy is undeniable and ClubClub appreciates all of the supports and buffs going around. Nita is tanking this time around instead of Ingo so that she can avoid the Mud-Slap. I mistakenly didn’t go for Fly to dodge that sure crit Dragon Pulse at the start of Bar 2, but thankfully Nita was able to tank it.
