    I still have a 100% dragonite from 2016 and recently got it to level 50.

    i can’t wait for this upcoming comday. i’ve got 400 pinap berries saved and 300 ultra balls. i’ll be catching everyone i see for the candies

    I remember I worked swing shift at the time. There was a parking lot on the water with a poke stop and dratini would sometimes spawn there. I’d sit there for an hour or so every night after work to maybe get 1-2 dratini a night. I did that for several weeks and when I was 2 dratini away from having enough candy for dragonite, a dragonite spawned on me on the way to the spot. That dragonite is still with me and is easily my most used Pokémon to this day.

    I specifically remember there being a lot of Dratini in August 2016 because there were Dratini nests lol..

    I remember half of the office (basically everyone who played) absolutely booking it across the parking lot because someone coming back from lunch had spotted a Dratini.

    I remember having a Mareep despawn before I could get to it and it ruined my day. I thought to myself that I’d never get enough candies to evolve one..

    Of course in 2016 you didn’t need to pay money for dratini candy. You just needed to hang near waterways. It’s another instance of Niantic gatekeeping resources.

    I remember walking up and down a particular street near a creek in my hometown since they spawned a lot near water and catching every single one I saw. I had been lucky enough to catch a wild Dragonite on the 3rd day the game was out, so it was purely for the sake of powering up the big guy for battle. Turned out, his stats were pretty mediocre anyway, but it gave me a leg up once I did manage to find a good Dratini to evolve after the fact.

    I already have a purified Dragonair for the Pokédex entry, and I’m looking forward to evolving it on Saturday. If you’re ever short a person in a future Dragonite raid, please let me know.

    I remember we looked at draganite in aw,, sometimes even asking “what pokemon is that”

    Went out to a park meetup in July 2016. Park had a small pond, water spawn, etc. A Dratini spawned, and it was damn near a stampede over to it. Different times.

    i played this game heavily when it first came out. i uninstalled it a year or two ago. but whenever i found a dratini, it was the most exciting thing since they didn’t spawn often where i am. i’d use whatever candies i had to catch them
