I still wonder if Sunshine DLC was supposed to be a thing. There’s a handful of worlds there where it feels like content was cut too, especially that medieval kingdom.

JFC it’s been half a decade. Insane.

Wish I could play this for the first time again!

My kids absolutely love this game.

    Well, so do I!

‘5 years on’ felt like getting hit with a steel chair

I bought a switch and Mario galaxy because I wanted a similar experience to Mario 64 and this game delivered for me big time. It’s like the spiritual successor and such a fun game

I love this game. My biggest gripe outside of the abundance of moons is the lack of traditional Mario environments/world-building. I appreciate that they were trying to have Mario visit exotic and strange locales, but a lot of the game doesn’t really feel “in-universe” to me if that makes sense.

I’ve had the switch for months and I still haven’t played it. It’s just never on sale at a reasonable price..

  9. That dude needs to drink a coffee or something because that was the slowest paced video I’ve ever watched.

This is my favorite video game of all time. I was smiling the whole time. I got a little watery eyed during the music video. Just pure perfection.

I was playing this on my Honeymoon in Costa Rica😅

I’m on my 3rd playthrough, the first was when my wife was pregnant with my son when it originally released. Then when my son was 3 and he started showing an interest but couldn’t play it. Now he turns 5 next week and we started it again about a month ago, this time taking turns in assist mode (he dies a lot). What he doesn’t know is that I bought him a Switch Lite for his birthday and that will be his first game on his new system. I can’t wait to see his face.

Surprised a new mainline Mario game hasn’t even been announced

  14. Played this game during the peak of the pandemic and it kept me sane

Makes me sad there has been no sequel. Probably one of my favourite games of all time. My son was 4 when I got him the switch that Christmas and we had hundreds of hours of enjoyment. We still play it from time to time. I was certain that they would have made a sequel by now. Keeping fingers crossed

Definitely the best 3D Mario of all time. The graphics are brilliant, the music is toe tappingly infectious, the level design and game playability are astounding. A child can pick it up and play with as much ease as a seasoned gamer. Sheer brilliance and a big reason for why Nintendo switch is the most loved console in the world right now!

    Man I hate getting older.

My Switch library is at something like 23 games, at least 18 of which are still sealed. Odyssey included.

Someday I’ll have the time to get into all these games.

    Maybe.

There are kids who played this game in elementary school who are now in high school looking back on this as something they “played when they were kids”. Meanwhile it feels like only last year that I played it.

Probably due for a replay, thanks for the reminder

It’s not five! I remember camping out for the release when I was in 10th grade…

Oh god it *IS* five years old…

  21. MrMunday

I got 999 moons. I love the game play, I love how I collected stickers and decorations for my ship. I loved the whole feeling of going on a journey

Welp off to jam out to Steam Gardens again.
