Absolutely love this game on PC and have been playing it for years off and on. If it runs well, and controls well, on Switch I might have to just pick it up.

Does anyone else have no sound effects with the demo version?
LeGourmand
There’s a demo. I highly recommend to try that. It got me hooked on the PC version a while back.

Is this a relaxing casual game or do you only really enjoy it once you invest enough time?
Joshrofl
Be cautious when starting to play this game, if it gets its hooks into you, you will lose alot of time playing it.

Really curious to give this a go on a controller!

Whoa really??

For all of you not sure what you’re about to embark on – one, I’m sorry. Two, you’re going to have an absolute blast. Three, there is no right way to play. Figure it out for yourself and be patient with yourself.

Is it kind of like sim city mixed with starcraft? It looks really cool.

IIRC, the developers have been explicitly clear that they will never ever put this game on sale, so if you’re waiting for that…it ain’t happening.

Oh no. I lose all sense of time when playing this game.

Any mentions of a physical version of this at some point, or likely to stay digital only?

I’m usually not into games like these but the trailer is one of the best indie trailers I’ve seen in a long time. There’s absolutely no need for narration. Everything is succinctly explained by showing you. The pacing is perfect. The music gives me Grant Kirkhope vibes. Honestly, I might have to try it just because of the trailer alone.

Nice, glad to see it has a Demo. I’ve heard very good things about this and will likely check it out if I click with it.

If this had couch coop like what Stardew, that’s where I’d be for the rest of my life.

Love this game on PC, just hope the control set up translates well on the switch controllers.

iv never played but am intrigued – i heard multiple times that it is severely addictive. can somebody tell me what about it is so addictive?

Steam Deck when? Doesn’t look like Steam has controller support in the store page

This game has always caught my eye but I’ve never played it. Now that it’s on switch instead of Pc I’ll have to pick it up. I’ve always preferred couch gaming over sitting at my desk.
I hope you’ll enjoy your time, and I’ll see you when you next hobble out of your house in three years.

This game has always caught my eye and was very excited to play it on the switch. Played the demo but the controls are so frustrating and clunky. I’ll keep trying just because I heard the potential and admiration for this game before a full purchase.
I wish the d pad would work choosing items in the menu. I think that would solve like 80% of my clunkiness issues.

I have wanted to play factorio for a while after my old science teacher let me play it in a lesson

So I haven’t played this before and haven’t done any research and played for about four hours. The depth is crazy. The tutorial isn’t a traditional style, the first two you can lolligag but it quickly becomes where you will die if you don’t work quickly. Once you know what to do it’s not hard, but I failed about four or five times until I got a handle on the flow needed to get a solid defense. And then the next map is ridiculously deep. The layers that are added are crazy and it does get super overwhelming which is compounded by the biter attacks. Felt like I finally kinda understood and then suddenly it goes, by the way you need to research!
It may sound negative, but I spent four hours and wanted to keep going. I’m still not going to look up any tips and see what happens.

In case anyone reads this and is having a bad time: the game has a really good control system but does a very bad job of explaining it. You’ll notice in the bottom left during the tutorial it says New Tips: #, to access these hold R, then right on the D-Pad to the third option and use the R stick to select Tutorial. This is where you’ll learn the really important things. Some notable: you can collect stacks from cases without opening by selecting the crate and holding LZ+A. Honestly I would’ve lost my mind without finding out all the hotkeys— and there’s a lot. I’m only on the fourth tutorial mission and if I hadn’t noticed it I would’ve probably abandoned the game.

To all you who are just now beginning your factory, welcome. I hope you’ll enjoy meticulously [learning how to make trains](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co136r7pkTk), [learning how to efficiently split belt lines](https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/4d3per/belt_balancer_compendium/), and generally learning that the factory must indeed grow.
I hope you’ll enjoy your time, and I’ll see you when you next hobble out of your house in three years.
