People will try to make you feel bad for purifying it. Personally I’d rather have a hundo. I don’t care much about it being stronger as a shadow.
Treasure it! This is an awesome hundo to have.
OP- whilst the shadow latios was rarer (we have had multiple opportunities to catch latios/latias) the mega is better in every scenario. Do not let people make you think you’ve made a stupid decision, to some it’s a questionable one but you made the right choice imo.
So there is no right or wrong decision, you just do whatever you want, it’s your game! I also purified my shadow Lugia 😀 .
I did the same with mine! 😀 I’d rather have a hundo for collection’s sake bc I don’t care much about battling

Hey just to let you know shadow Salamance and shadow Dragonite are much better Shadow dragons than this, however people think that just because it’s a shadow and it’s “better” than it’s non shadow counterpart means it’s God teir or they look at it’s dps but those dps are for it’s really good psychic moves however as psychic goes regular and shadow Mewtwo is the king and outclasses this shadow by a lot
But it really isn’t that top tier of a dragon attacker and even Rayquaza is about as strong as Latios Shadow, just because it’s only dragon move is dragon claw, so if I were in your situation you did the right thing, because it’s mega is the best and you can’t deny the candy bonuses
However mine I got was 2 stars so it will never be leveled up but it will never be purified it’s basically a collection piece like most shadow legendaries cuz I’ll probably only get one
And you can power up roughly 2 purified Pokemon to level 35ish with the same amount of resources as one shadow, so those resources should be used for the best of the best, not something pretty good but not the best, if you want pretty good but not the best just focus on Rayquaza

Don’t worry about what other people say, purified Latinos is really good especially if it’s a 4*, and you can mega evolve a purified Latios but you can’t mega evolve a shadow Latios

Short explanation why some people here are mad at you or assholes to you.
Shadow Legendarys are only available from the Boss and limited by the Boss Rocket Radars.
Normally you get 1 and everytime you can get one he has a new shadow legendary.
You can keep your last radar to challenge him twice the next time. (old one + new one you get)
But mostly you get only 1 of the shadow legendarys (more with special events or the trick above) making it nearly a unique thing.
And secondly because shadows ontop are very special itself.
A shadow pokemok gets +20% ATK Stat and loses -20% Def Stat.
In PvE (against Raids) where it’s all about how much dmg you can do a shadow is ALWAYS better then a non shadow.
So a 0% shadow beats a 100% non shadow by quite abit.
Latios for example has 268 ATK.
With 15 ATK IV it gets to roughly 283 ATK.
Shadow with 0IV gets 20% of 268 = 321.6 ATK.
So the shadow 0% version beats the 100% nom shadow by 38.6 ATK or roughly 13%.
BUT!!!!!
Shadow can’t mega evolve and pvp is something else entirely.
General rule of thumb is to never purify shadow pokemon if you want to optimize in any way until you informed yourself on where to use it and why.
They are a lot more rare (especially legendarys) and stronger (pve nearly all the time and pvp depending on league and poke).
If you just want to collect / don’t care about optimizing stuff / or rarity stuff then forget everything i said and just have fun in the game :)!
