The shiny odds are about 1/64 but congrats on the IV’s.

Definitely rare! I’ve been farming Arlo for weeks to get one! I finally did last week but he was a 1* 😂🥲

This is about as conflicted as it gets for me. I’m for purification in this case, as it’s a shundo mega Pokémon, and a hecking Charizard to boot. I’m almost glad I haven’t caught one the same as yours. It would be torture.

Yea its rare. Ive gotten 2 shadow shiny bulbasaurs but no others
I got a shadow squirtle like right when I was getting into the game and purified it and now I always see these posts and feel like a ding dong

FWIW, I’m pretty new (been playing Go for < 3 months and never played any other Pokemon games) and I never really know what’s rare. I know what’s NOT rare (damn you yungoos!) but not how rare other mons are. For instance, I have 3 Charmanders (1 regular and 2 shadow, though zero shiny) and I actually have 2 of them (the 2* ones) tagged to transfer next double transfer candy opportunity and only to keep the 3*. Is that smart? I don’t know, but without anyone to ask questions of, I have to make decisions with incomplete information.
Heck, I posted a question about shinys and I got a lot of crap (and called a liar) for it.
People giving you crap about asking are why I hesitate to ask most of my questions, and when i do I try to very clearly state how new I am (to hopefully minimize the bashing for asking – it doesn’t eliminate it, but it does help some).
My advice to newbies: Be choosy about what questions you ask and especially how you word them, or be prepared for the worse. I don’t know if it’s a “pokemon on reddit” thing or just a “pokemon in general” thing, because I haven’t experienced anything like it in other forums/topics?
Anyway, from one naive newbie to the OP, you’ve got a great mon there!
At the time of typing this, I caught mine 14 minutes ago lol. I get the urge to play and at 2 in the morning I fight Arlo while lying down on my bed. I imagine me encountering a shadow shiny as a joke. It appears on my phone. Almost woke up the entire house.

I’ve been trying to farm arlo for this but I never got it. Decided to fight sierra instead of arlo one time and got the shiny shadow squirtle. Don’t know if I should be happy or mad about that but it happened
