Been researching into grips for Switch OLED. Skull & Co vs Satisfye. Leaning a lot more towards Skull & Co but I’m just worried about scratches to the joycons/backside of the tablet (from a review on Amazon: https://i.imgur.com/g9a3wti.png).
Anyone that uses the Skull & Co grip, **how often do you take it off and has it made any marks on your Switch?** I know it says it’s dockable but from the reviews I’ve seen it definitely is not intended so if I ever want to dock, I’ll have to take off the grip.
Originally I was leaning more towards Satisfye because of the ergonomics of it, but then doing more research, heard quite a bit of people mention their joycon rail getting really messed up because it is REALLY tight. Really hope Satisfye is working on another grip that will work better with the OLED instead of using the same grip for both units.
Edit: Thank you all for your answers!

I have both. Neither have left marks and I remove them regularly to switch between them depending on if I’m leaving the house or not because I don’t have the satisfye case. I like the skull and co due to being able to dock it with the case on even though it blocks my usb ports on the side of the dock. However, I very much dislike the button caps for the shoulder buttons. They make them feel very squishy to me. With the satisfye grip, I get the real button feel but I can’t dock the switch. The satisfye grip is very snug. I’m not concerned about rails, I’ve had to replace them and they are pretty straight forward.
I got my switch on release week. The skull and Co case has been dockable for me but I’m sure that’s cause it was made for the original specs of the docks as i believe they were later changed to be slighlty more slim. I never take mine off expect to clean the case and switch as it can get dirty but not scratched.
Having later bought the Satisfye one as it was recommended as more comfortable. I hated it. It left my joy con’s scratched on the side instantly regretted it and it’s been sitting in its case since then.
I only have Skull & Co Neo Grip, it’s 50/50. My Black OLED Dock doesn’t leave any scratches BUT my new dock from Pokemon SV Dock DO leave scratches on screen. I do play handheld very often so I’m confuse why it’s leaving scratches now, I guess it’s tighter on newer OLED docks. As for railing, I don’t have any issues but then again it could be varies with others, using the grip for more than a year when OLED came out and have no loose railing/scuff marks on joycons at all.
I only have the skull & co, only had it for a couple of weeks. It’s easily dockable with the neo grip on & no scratches on it so far plus you can get the skull & co for $20 on Amazon.
I’ve used both Skull n Co and Satisfye and now use the Mumba clear grip case on my main Switch.
The Neo grip is simple to install, and fits easily, though snapping the two pieces together can require a little pressure and be a little fiddly. I haven’t noticed any scratches on the Joycon or Switch itself. It seems pretty well padded.
The Satisfye — for me — was too much of a pain to get on and off and made the Switch too cumbersome to handle. It also doesn’t fit in any case besides the one Satisfye makes for it which, in my opinion, is not aesthetically pleasing and is also just too big.
I would recommend Skull n Co a hundred times over the Satisfye.
Hori split pad pro is better alternative if you don’t need gyro.
If you do get a skull & co, make sure it’s all smooth surfaces.
The grip I have for my OG Switch had some sharp plastic on the inside that scratched the side of my joycon…
The first run of the oled neogrip didn’t have padding so it scratched more easily. I have had mine for five months and taken it off and on a few times with zero scratches. Also I use mine with the dock even though it’s a tight fit.
I have 3 oleds in my family’s all 3 of them use the skull and co grip. My youngest tends to take his on and off a lot while and my my oldest son almost never do. No damage to any of our devices and couldn’t possibly be happier with the product itself.
I have both and I prefer the neogrip hands down
Used both, kept the Skull n Co neogrip.
Satisfye DID start to smudge/scratch the back from removing the ridiculously tight grip. Contacted their customer support and they completely dismissed any design concerns, so I sent it back immediately.
Skull n Co has been great for over a year now. Felt pads on inside cause no scratches or smudge markings. Dockable without issues, can also use the kickstand on OLED btw. I’ll admit, the Satisfye rubber on grips is more comfortable if you’re only using it handheld, but I prefer the flexibility of docking without having to take off the whole thing.
I have the neo grip. Mine (white one) is definitely not dockable but have heard different version like the animal crossing one is thinner, and can be docked so it’s a little confusing when it comes to that.
What I did was take out the rubber grips on the inside of ONE SIDE of the neo grip as I found it way to tight. This way it’s still secure in the grip but doesn’t feel I’m breaking my switch when removing it. However this may lead to scratching the outside of the joycons but I haven’t noticed it and that’s not really a big concern to me.
I was planning on getting this actually..but seeing that pic..maybe not
So I take mine off when I swap out Joycon or when I dock it. So twice a day. It hasn’t left any marks on mine, but I’ve seen it mark up others. It’s a solid case and can be docked while on it just is a really tight fit. It’s very easy to remove and replace though.
Can’t speak to the scratches, cuz I play entirely handheld and only take it off when a joycon is acting up
But: the reason I went with skull&co over satisfy is because I didn’t trust that foam system Satisfye uses on OLED. Skull&co puts no pressure on the OLED, while still feeling well attached
For those with the neo grip do you prefer the trigger grip or the plus grip? I can’t decide which to use. Snap grip no good as it’s too small
