  1. Does this release add in difficulty settings? I recall the older games being a bit hard.

  2. Spooky_Blob

I want this game so bad but I’m so damn broke right now.

  3. Scared_Power

Waiting for my copy to arrive! Does the game have summon spells ala Final Fantasy?

  4. TipYourDishwasher

I was hoping I’d get paid early today. Probably still going to buy it tonight. I loved ffta as a kid

Silly question because we are on the switch sub but has anyone contemplated getting it on another system?

I know the switch isn’t super powerful but it was a night and day difference for persona 5 on switch and on Xbox. I thought I’d like it on the go but now I’m not so sure.

Playing this on PC now and having a blast. I hear it’s pretty great on switch but I’m very impressed with the work they put in to make a quality mouse interface for the whole thing. It’s all felt extremely polished so far.

  7. FakeColours

Hows the difference between switch and Ps5?

  8. Seathttrail

Can’t wait to play this. My paycheck Can’t come soon enough 🙂

I really want this, but I also have the PSP/SNES versions and I’m not entirely sure voice acting and 1080 is worth a full price game to me.

Definitely worth it for anyone on the fence though. One of the greatest tactics games of all time

  10. How does this come out on switch right away but we still don’t have the final fantasy pixel remasters??

  11. I personally LOVE this game even more than FF Tactics, though of course FFT is my very close 2nd. Though I sometimes lament that FFT is the more well-known one which is often held up as the gold standard for these types of games, rather than Tactics Ogre.

I wonder if maybe the name was always kinda weird sounding to people. I remember I always thought it was some weird obscure thing until the PSP release, when I was shocked to discover it was in fact a Squeenix game by Matsuno, the same director+writer of FFT.

As a person who loves strat games; Plays Civ and FTL religiously. And 20 years ago bumbled through ogre battle 64 as a wee lad, do you guys think I’ll be able to jump into this fairly easily?

  13. megasean3000

Is this a rerelease of the PSP version or a new game altogether?

  14. Gerganon

Why $70 though? Think it will go on sale in the future?

  15. I know it’s probably just an art style they chose and I’m not trying to start an argument at all, but why do the units look blurry while everything else looks crisp and clean? I guess the background tiles have the same style but for some reason they don’t seem as blurry, especially when it zooms out. Is that just me?

  16. wedgiey1

Is this the game with the bird man who’s really strong?

  17. myowngalactus

Just bought it, Ogre Battle 64 is one of my all time favorite games, but I never played this one, so I’ve been looking forward to trying it. This might be the first time I’ve ever bought a game on the same day it released. Really hoping it sells well enough that the remake 64 also.

  18. Oh hell yeah! I never got to play Tactics Ogre, but I adored Final Fantasy Tactics. This looks *identical* in combat and art style. Are they basically twin games?

  19. Vedu1411

I’ve heard that this game is based on the 5th game in the series. Do I need to play the other Ogre games before this?

  20. monkey_skull

Is this game cutscene-heavy? I really like tactical RPG gameplay and I’ve heard this is one of the best, but I get bored quickly with like 10+ minutes between encounters

  21. Rickdiculously

Started on switch and the learning curve coming from Fire Emblem is steeper than expected. 3D terrain!! That gets! In the way!! Of my spells!!! Team damage! Wtf!

It looks like it’ll be a long and arduous learning process before I’m comfy with the game in depth, but I can tell already the menus are slick and well designed. The music is good, the sprites are very cute. The original VA are excellent (avoiding English due to Spisak trauma).

This is clearly the perfect game while waiting for the new FE to drop.

  22. lester_pe

Is this like ff tactics advance with many job classes?

  23. Jackie_Puppet

I remember the old PS1 version being obscenely difficult, but I was young and not really in the mindset to play this type of game efficiently.

  24. Javier91

I remember finding tactic games for my FFTA fixed and stumble onto this. Time for replay.

  25. Jaybotics

Clocked in about 5 hours today and I cannot wait to get home and play more. What a fantastic game.

  26. hellschatt

Man I love tactics games and I’ve never played this one.

But my backlog is already full, was hoping to start and finish Metroid Dread before pokemon next week.

  27. Jmdaemon

cant say the ps1 level graphics excite me. No effort November continues.

  28. SpencerE

Can anyone comment on how much dialogue there is? One thing I couldn’t stand about triangle strat was I played for 2hrs and only had 2 fights including the tutorial one.

  29. majoramiibo

I just can’t get past the smoothing filter.

  30. I’ve only played the Knight of Lodis on the GBA, and I quite enjoyed it. Will I enjoy this as much?

  31. Linkarus

I remember crafting in this game is quite COOL

  32. How is the difficulty? Triangle Strategy was too easy for me to actually enjoy it

  33. TSg_blackM

Got mine yesterday with the steelbook from Amazon

  34. How similar is this to Knight of Lodis on GBA? I absolutely loved that game but I couldn’t get into the original Tactics Ogres on SNES and PSX.

  35. Mandalorian_Spartan

Would you say this completely obsoletes the old version? Anything the older version still does better?

  36. thebezet

Is there a comparison anywhere between the Switch and other versions?

  37. AlucardIV

50 dollars???? I got Let us Cling together for like 10 dollars a few years ago.

Sorry but that is just MASSIVELY overpriced for some slight rebalancing and voice acting….
