>The fashionable Umbra Witch is back with a new instalment of her climax-action series. Bayonetta 3 is out now for Nintendo Switch!

One of the accolades should totally be “Jennifer Hale is incredible as Bayonetta!”

Weird how there hasn’t been much buzz about this game since it launched, especially compared to that big hubbub with the VA before it came out.
From what little commentary I’ve gathered, it seems like reviewers are giving it stellar marks, while players are more mixed. To me, it’s an 8/10 game (not having finished it). But I wonder how many people besides me actually bought it?

It probably won’t rank as high as the previous 2 games but I am definitely enjoying the hell out of it
Jmask5
Man I loved this game. First game since elden ring that i got addicted to this year.

I’d say it’s a solid 8/10. It’s a must for Bayonetta fans and a good choice for fans of hack and slash games with a bit of nuance.

To be honest, I think this is the weakest entry of the 3. It’s not a bad game by any means, I had a lot of fun with it. But I do think the first two are in a class of their own, and this game missed the mark for me in a couple regards.

This is one of the insanest, weirdest games I’ve played… in the best ways possible.

Game of the year material?…

Bayonetta 2 was simply too high a bar to clear (being my favorite game ever) but I still enjoyed the hell out of it, despite its flaws.

Biggest disappointment of the year for me. Game felt like it lost its identity and the gameplay continues to be more and more dumbed down. It doesn’t help that it also looks awful on the Switch. How did 2 look so good compared to this even though it is much older?
SoulOfGwyn
Technically very flawed, but I loved the game from start to finish. Hoping for a 60fps 1080p version on the next Nintendo console to do this game justice
Miitteo
Absolutely not GOTY material.

I don’t know. Having been a big fan of this series since it launched, I was highly excited for this game. I ended up being very disappointed in it. It did not feel like a Bayonetta game except for basically the very last chapter where things finally got stylish and outlandish in only the way Bayonetta games do.
The regular enemies were very boring and uninteresting. The super large character battles were so slow and awful – slow fights is the antithesis of Bayonetta combat. I didn’t care for summoning my demons in battle as you had to use them quite regularly and I just prefer playing as Bayonetta and not watching a slow, lumbering demon fight for me. The Jeanne missions were just bad. Violet was okay.
I came away from the game just feeling let down. I am happy people like it. But it’s not nearly in the same league as Bayonetta 1 or 2.

It was my favorite of the series, but I’m a fan of exploring in games which this definitely had the most of it. I think it needed to be longer to flesh out the characters and story, most bayos pop up to drop off their demon with you, disappear for the rest of the time and pop back up just to die at the end of the chapter. I got huge kingdom hearts vibes which made me a little nostalgic and probably skewed my opinion a bit too. BUT I do not think it is even comparable to Elden Ring, God of War and Horizon Forbidden West.

‘GOTY material’ as if Elden Ring didn’t come out this year

I’m feeling really burned by this game. I haven’t beat it and literally just stopped playing to go do a new play through of Astral Chain and I’m having so much more fun. Bayonetta feels clunky, bland and unfinished by comparison. I’m sad. I really want to like it and I blew 60 bucks on it but I can’t get through it.

Had a great time with 3 I love the series. I thought 3 was incredible as I wasn’t looking for another bayo 1 and 2 I appreciate it being different. I’m not a completion gamer just happy I got all the alt costumes and the story book level by the time I finished it.
