  1. Just seen this on Twitter. I don’t have enough time to play all these RPGs coming out! Lol

  2. zenith2nadir

Gosh, has it really been almost 20 years since the original was out? Loved that game!

I can’t believe I’m about to buy this game again. This is hands down my favorite GC game. I remember knowing absolutely nothing about it before seeing a tiny spread in Gameinformer a bit before it’s release. I remember thinking “Dude, this game has anime cutscenes!” I had never heard of the Tales series and didn’t follow games outside of Gameinformer. On the day of release my dad took me to Gamestop but without a preorder there weren’t any copies for me to get. We went to 4 or 5 different stores and all of them were sold out. Finally one clerk gave me someone’s preordered copy. It was almost 9pm and it hadn’t been picked up yet and the store was closing. I was so happy. I played the tar out of it and loved every second. Eventually I traded it in to Gamestop to buy a newer game. I didn’t have an allowance or a job when I was younger so the only way to get new games was to trade in old ones. A few months later I missed it so much I bought it again.

    Can’t wait for another playthrough.

Loved the game. Very excited to play on Switch.

Man I loved this game back in the GameCube. But those graphics have not aged well. Also disappointed it doesn’t run at 60fps like the GameCube version. Low effort remaster at best.

  6. DaMonstaburg

AHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSSSS I’m so excited. I still have this bad boy for my GC.

  7. I’m confused, isn’t there already a remaster?

  8. Kiss_my_asthma69

Loved this game as a kid, can’t wait to go back to it now

  9. ZeroTransPat

Why can’t they do a remake?
Isn’t this already out on steam?

  10. BimBamZimZam

I bought this on steam, thinking i was gonna have a grand ol’ time! Nope, port is broken AF!

So I’ll give this remaster a 2nd chance! I know I’ll like this game

  11. I would be more excited if this wasn’t the same busted game already available on PC, based on the PS3 remaster that was based on the *PS2* version.

The PS2 version had extra stuff but was locked at 30 fps even though the original game was not.

Prepare to spend $60 on a 20-year-old game

  13. Thickest_asian

Loved the game on GC and played it all summer long after freshmen year of high school. I’ll skip this one bc it’s locked at 30 fps for an older game.

  14. Goldelux

When are they gonna give us Golden Sun Remastered

  15. I’ll never forget my dad asking the Gamestop clerk if they had Tales of Nymphomania in stock.

Only a remaster and only on switch? What a waste. This game deserves a proper remake using the same engine that Tales of Arise uses (Unreal Engine).

  17. VagrantAISystem

Am I really going to beat this game for the 7th time? Another 70+ hours put into the game? I think we all know the answer to that. Huge hype for this.

  18. _Repeats_

Playing currently for my first time on Steam Deck. Is there a point where the story gets better? Im still going through all the trials (just finished #3), but the story is laughably boring/bland.

  19. LonghornMorgs

Lol i’m literally almost done with this game on steam because it was on sale for like $3 or something. The port is pretty busted though, seriously wish they’d port the game cube version instead of the playstation one.

  20. Nezumi16

This game was my introduction to Jennifer Hale and will forever live, rent-free in my head. So excited to buy it again.

My first tales was Abyss, which I enjoyed a lot and beat it twice, and made me go into other tales of games:

    * Graces: I found it to be quite bad, both gameplay and story, I didnt even finish it
    * Zestiria: I somewhat liked it, but I lost interest near the end. Loved the gameplay and its systems but the story was meh at best
    * Berseria: Literally the opposite of Zestiria, great characters and story, meh gameplay and exploration was dumbed down a lot
    * Vesperia: I honestly didnt get why so much praise, the story was really really slow, the characters a bit uninspired and it took a lot of time for something meaningful to actually happen, I had the feeling 80% of the game was just filler content
    * Arise: Yeah amazing graphics but it felt like a completely different series with so many streamlined things

Aaaand now we have this one, which is one of the first, but considering I didnt like any of the Tales I tried after Abyss, which I consider superior in everything to any other I tried Im not sure anymore 🙁
