As someone with minimal experience in Fire Emblem: the magic rings summoning the powers of past heroes seems a little…kitschy? Cheesy? Trying to find the precise word to describe it. Almost like a kid’s show element. I’m wondering if the focus on the old will detract from the greater story of the game.
On the flip side of that, as someone with minimal experience in Fire Emblem: this magic ring system could be a FANTASTIC way to introduce someone (like me) who is curious about the franchise/setting and wants to dip their toes in the water. While setting it up as “Baby’s First Fire Emblem” might turn off longtime players a little bit, it could possibly serve as a fantastic gateway entry into the series, if they play their cards right. I look at this and go, “This could be fun.”
