The song in this little village is so relaxing. I would go there just to chill after some battles. Love that area. Great painting by the way.

Mannnn seeing this have me feelings. So many memories. Should I replay again?? Or just load my treasured save file and do some chores? 🙂 I only wish I could have a second home in Tarrey Town, my second favorite place!

This pic brings up the feeling I’ve always had about this game: that it was lacking a true ecosystem. Everything was beautifully put together, but it just feels like a set for a story, some side quests that refer to locales, but other than that there’s nothing extraneous to the world.
The house was such a cool concept but served no purpose than displaying three of each weapon. I feel like if there was more interaction with the world, then it would’ve made the game more immersive than a simple adventure.
Beautiful artwork btw.

What Zelda game is this? I’ve only played OoT, TP and PH.

Every time before saving my game, no matter where I was or what I was doing, I’d always warp back to this house, and stand near the bed.
Then when I started a new game, the first thing I’d do is get in bed and sleep until morning. If I go downstairs and it’s raining, I just go back to sleep for another day. Seemed like for all Link goes through, he should at least be able to start the day off without getting soaked, plus napping through a rainy day is one of life’s great pleasures.
I know he’s just a videogame character and what I was doing wasn’t giving him extra health or anything like that, but I wanted Link to be well rested and setting off on a sunny day, dammit.

That tower is poorly designed and I have always believed the rest of the house might be equally constructed. I have never bought that house as it might very well fall down on me as I was sleeping.
Per the game… they were going to demo it because “This old house here has been abandoned”
Likely story mister [only other construction group in the nation]… Show me signs of aging. No… This guy knows the house is dangerous but found someone to pawn it off on.

is this the house he grew up in from Link to the past?

I choose to end my sessions by returning home and sleeping to the next morning. I just wish some people would stay off my lawn.

I finished this game earlier this year and already this seems so nostalgic. I’m glad I got my Switch and got to experience one of the reasons why people buy the Switch.

I’ve been saying it for years but Nintendo has a *lot* to live up to with this new sequel. I mean yeah, that’s always the case with new games from their big franchises like Zelda and Mario, which both have some of the most acclaimed games of all time and pretty much no bad games yet, but this game in particular (and Mario Odyssey) proved that not only are they still capable of making enjoyable games in the series but they are also still capable of branching out and creating something bigger and more experimental than they’ve ever done in the series without straying too far from what the series is.
Every time a new Zelda game comes out everyone just automatically expects that it will be great and that it will be nostalgic and familiar and enjoyable. And looking back at the main series games it’s generally been a safe bet, the only one that often gets a bad reputation is Zelda II, and that was 35 years ago. But it feels like BotW raised that bar, now expectations are higher than ever. Not only does the next Zelda game need to be *good*, it needs to be *the best game ever made*, with the best art design and the best music and a huge open world with tons of stuff to explore and side quests that will take 100+ hours to completely finish. It’s not an unachievable task, BotW isn’t really that much different in scope from any modern AAA game and Nintendo has a great track record when it comes to the big franchises they actually care about, but I just don’t see any way that Tears of the Kingdom can be better received than BotW, even if it’s an objectively better game. The hype at this point and the fondness for BotW is just too big.
And I say this as someone who was honestly kind of disappointed with BotW because I played it *after* hearing tons of hype. It’s probably not my favorite Zelda game, it’s certainly good but massively overhyped. But even with that in mind it’s going to be hard for the next game to live up to it, it was something special and surprising and now we’re all expecting more of that next time.
