To find out which Pokemon are worth using for each league, it’s highly recommended to use pvpoke.com as the site ranks each Pokemon based on how powerful they are for each league. You can select a league from the drop down menu and search up the name of any Pokemon and it will tell you where it ranks. Shadow Mewtwo is ranked #289 for Ultra league which is very low. It’s not used at all in leagues that cap CP.
However, in Master League, Shadow Mewtwo is an absolute force to be reckoned with. He’s one of the top Pokemon in the game for Master League, and this one has nearly perfect IVs for it. I would strongly recommend best buddying this and dumping all your rare candy into it. He will be unbelievable in Master League and for raids.

Those IVs are not optimal for Ultra League. It’s definitely a beast for Master League tho. Get it psystrike with elite TM to destroy anything and shadow ball as secondary move to destroy metagrosses. It’s also a beast for raids

Don’t let these comments lessen your excitement! It’s a long, tough process powering any shadow pokemon to complete in GL, let alone a legendary! While I agree that it would be worth saving rare candy and getting that best buddy ribbon; you can still be excited for your power spice pick for GL, as you grind for that ML jump!

Screw the best advice, rock that bad boy in ultra just to show him off. I love seeing people rock their coolest pokemon in battle. Sometimes I’ll fight with a dreadful shiny just because I’m proud and want to show someone. It’s pokemon not war, doesn’t matter if you lose a few

My shadow mewtwo is 1 star and it easily dies in team rocket battles. It has 1.1k cp so I think that’s on me
