Hello r/nintendo folks!

Morton here from the XD Indie Club, dev and publisher of Finding Paradise’s Switch version! We’re stoked to share that **To the Moon Sequel – Finding Paradise has landed on Nintendo Switch** after sweat and tears (most of them were dropped when we played the game tho haha) that we poured into this project.

**About Finding Paradise -** [Trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d87EXWfBWLo)

Known for its heartfelt narratives and 16-bit old-school art style, Finding Paradise is a story-driven indie game that takes you on an emotional journey. Following Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene of Sigmund Corps, traverse through a dying man’s memories, go on an adventure of fulfilling his last wish, and discover the true meaning of life and happiness.

Most of us, including the XD team, are still dazzled by how emotionally impactful the plot of the game where it invites players to experience the complexities of life. Indeed, it is a game that would make you think, wonder, laugh, and leave you with a sad smile in the end.

I played To the Moon during what was probably the worst period of my life, and those two nights it took to finish it are still incredibly fond to me. The most memorable moment to me was when I was looking out my window around midnight after the Everything’s Alright sequence, and I just kept gazing at the (close to) full moon for what seemed like forever. I can hardly put what I was feeling at the time into words, but that memory will continue to stick with me for sure.

One of my favorite game series, but I really don’t feel the need to have it on another console.

…although, if a bunch of Finding Paradise fans are gonna flood to this post, I wanna recommend Rakuen. It’s very similar, and almost entirely created by Laura Shigihara, who wrote and performed “Everything’s Alright” and “Wish My Life Away” from this series. (And also the Plants VS Zombies Soundtrack). If you like simple games that make you cry, Rakuen has to be one of the best.

I wouldn’t have played To the Moon without watching the streamers playing it first. It was a great experience feeling it not just on my own but also as a community.

The Legend of Zelda series has been the most emotionally impactful for me simply because of its connection to my entire life. I have been playing Zelda since I was 5 and my babysitter brought over the gold cartridge for the NES. Now anytime I play any Zelda it’s like reviewing the whole length of my life with the one common thread.

An emotionally impactful game for me was definitely Pokemon Legends Arceus. I grew up playing Pokémon and was so excited when I learned it was coming to home console. I wasn’t able buy any of the games that released as they came out though, until Arceus came out and I got it for my 18th birthday. It hit me like a truck. Seeing the Pokémon on the TV and seeing how it’s changed. I still love that game so much.

  6. Breath of the Wild.

I was freshly diagnosed with CPTSD, barely able to hold up my head or think outside a wet paper bag, and then the new Zelda came out. I was excited but worried — I had fallen so far. I didn’t know if I could play the game, let alone finish it.

120 hours later, I wasn’t worried anymore. I had met the Rito and ridden giant horses and triumphed over evil. I had explored that world and in it found a piece of myself again. It is no exaggeration to say that Breath of the Wild healed me, even if in some small, immeasurable part.

Years later I continue to grow, continue to crawl my way back to living, with those memories of Hyrule held close to my heart.

Hi, thanks for doing this! Unfortunately for the first one, To the Moon is a backlog title for me, but it did catch my eye! Looking forward to eventually playing through it and the others.

I’d say some of the biggest story moments I’ve seen in games are in visual novels, which are also on the Switch, but not the first place I played them. I do own Steins;Gate Elite on Switch, though, so I always like to take the opportunity to plug S;G. It’s a life-changer, seriously. The best time travel story of our time. Saying anything about it would be spoiler territory, though. Just trust me on this one.

Honestly the most impactful moment was turning on the game after my grandfather died to try to distract myself and though it didn’t distract me from my grief it did let me manage it and work through it instead which personally helped me more. Between this game and Spiritfarer I really had a lot of help with my grief and letting go.

I remember when To the Moon first came out, it was when one of my grandfather’s past away. The game helped me through it and let me live through the idea of whether or not he would enjoy his dreams if one thing was changed.

My first exposure to To the Moon, after listening to its soundtrack, was watching a streamer’s playthrough of it, but I was still an absolute WRECK from [the life support beeps slowing to a stop on the fadeout from the rocket launch](/spoiler).

    Thanks for holding this giveaway!

  11. Wanderment

I’ve not played any of the series, nor do I think I’ve played any similar games, but the trailer–specifically the music–has me intrigued.

  12. Boogey_Tent

I quite enjoyed playing ai: the somnium files on switch. For the most part it is a lighthearted game, but the ending gave me the feels. I always have to admire good character writing, and would be excited to play the sequel to “to the moon”

My girlfriend was introducing me to different story games and to the moon was one of them. She told me watched a lets player go through the story and thought I would like it. What I didn’t know was that I’d be crying my eye out at midnight finishing the game because the story was just too good and something I’ve never experienced before. Once I found out there was a sequal coming, I preordered it and played it day 1 and felt the same rush of emotions. Would love to revisit this on the switch!

I remember grabbing the game on Steam at launch, so I hope I’m not misremembering, but you know that part in Finding Paradise at the end with the >!bits and pieces of the world and memories floating around and moving on floating platforms with a kinda void-like background? I know that sounds weird, but I swear, that’s how I remembered it all those years back. That part was one of the parts that made me sit and look back because I remember it hitting like a truck.!<

I’ve been a fan of this series for many years (proud owner of a Neil plush, missed Eva’s campaign sadly) and actually began with the iOS port. This game in particular though is my favorite of the franchise. It felt like it took the base of To The Moon and flipped it on its head with its theme and approach, and >!that whole twist with Faye was amazing and I lost it seeing her in Imposter Factory, really adore her character!<. I’ve been wanting to replay the series again sometime, so I imagine this is a wonderful opportunity to do so while waiting for the summer-episode-where-nothing-bad-or-weird-at-all-happens. Regardless, thank you for all the work with this series; the To The Moon port was incredible, and I’m really glad that more people can get into what I think is the best of the series so far with this port.

I really enjoyed To the Moon, because of the main objective of the two scientists, that were really making one last wish. It made me really cry.

    I can’t wait to play the sequel(s)!

  16. One of my colleagues recommended To The Moon to help me through a rather testing period in my personal life. It resonated with me, and I’ve enjoyed the series since.

  17. For me it was mario odyssey. After the game ended, it felt like I really did travel the world
