  1. I never thought I’d be so OK with the return of PSX style graphics as a “retro” offering. But Signalis has proven me wrong. Not sure if it will work in all cases however. It needs to do something “more” with the style to be worth it.

Holy shit! I did not expect to ever see this get a re-release.

I remember loving the combat especially, it was the closest thing to a medieval Soldier of Fortune in terms of how badly you can wreck someone’s shit.

You know what game I wish would get re-released? The Legacy of Kain series (I know it’s PlayStation, but still).

The loading times were horrific in the original version.. I really hope they got improved.

I’m a big fan of the PC original so it was a really nice surprise to see this on the Switch. It was a janky game in 2001 and is even more so now, but I’m still having a lot of fun playing through it again on the Switch, on my couch with a Pro Controller.

The lighting and water effects were insane back in 2001 and still look pretty nice now, in a retro kind of way. If you can get over the jank, this is a really nice way to revisit or experience for the first time a game that is similar to Dark Souls yet was released 10 years earlier.

Also, the developers who made this game founded Mercury Steam, which developed Metroid Dread, so I feel like it’s appropriate to see this on Switch.

Even with controller support I found the combos realy hard to do especialy those with pressing directional input with the analog stick
