I was excited until I read the note…
“Variable frame rate with the described values as the maximum”

I know that it’s beating a dead horse, but we need new hardware. The newest Pokemon game is running like dogshit. Most third party ports are running like dogshit. I love Nintendo and I love my Switch, but the time has come.

  3. PrinnyWantsSardines

Didnt expect any different from outdated hardware

  4. I hate that in order to get the steel book we had to preorder so far in advance we didn’t know of details like this. I feel like I made the correct choice, I went with ps5, but man, still feels bad.

Yeah think I’ll get this on PS5 for sure. 4k 60fps.vs 720p 30fps is a.no brainer. I play docked more than handheld anyway.

Still pretty cool they’re bringing it to the Switch at least.

Dammit I just bought this game on PSP…

… wait, is it a remake, a remaster, or a port?

  7. Mmmmmm if it’s a stable 30 it’d probably be fine… Rethinking my pre-order though…

The framerate is relatively unimportant to me, what counts is whether there are any substantial changes and additions to story and gameplay – if they are limited or nonexistent, then I will not bother with this release as I played through the psp version years ago already.

It looks good to me because if this thing can handle 720p near 30fps, then the steam deck can definitely handle 720 or 800p, 60 fps with maxed or near maxed graphical settings without breaking a sweat

    Awesome.

Handheld for this is the way to go for me.

I will be OK with this because I play my Switch games exclusively in handheld and do my TV gaming with PS5. I think of this as a portable title anyway, so I want to recreate that feel with my Switch.

  12. JoshuaJSlone

Really weird. Usually when portable and docked resolution is the same, it’s what’s called a Mistake.

  13. Interesting_Snow_765

switch version for sure, portable and the physical price will increase unlike ps and xbox

If square has done their job it should run fine on Switch, it’s a psp game and to be honest from clips crisis core doesn’t look that amazing. Don’t expect a new Switch till 2024 and don’t expect it to be super powerful, think around Xbox one x and I guess that’s where the next Nintendo console will be.

I can live with this. I mostly play on handheld anyways so this is another godsend of a port. Gonna be reliving my PSP days with this one.

Pretty much the same as Bayonetta 3 handheld and that’s an action game. I can probably handle crisis core with these specs.

  17. LMFAO! Nintendo switch subreddit concerned about Graphics and fps like its a PC. Too damn technical to allow yourself to enjoy the game for what it is not how it looks. The larger market,Casual gamers don’t give a fuck about resolution and fps especially when it comes to a Nintendo product. A lot of mismanaged technical expectation of a Nintendo product. Nintendo designs their games for fun not to look pretty or flex technical prowess. If y’all care about graphics and fps then get the PlayStation/Xbox/ pc version but y’all will be locked to a couch in a room vs playing ff7 anywhere.

Don’t shit on 5 year old Nintendo hardware because it doesn’t meet your mismanaged technical expectations.

With that said I’ll be getting the ps5 version as I’m under house arrest.

  18. As a father with a toddler, my only free time to play games nowadays is late at night before bed so you can bet I’ll be picking this up for the Switch. Super excited.

  19. BoisterousLaugh

Oh man the amount of people who will buy on ps5 thinking they will get 4k 60 lmaoooo. Make sure your display is up to date.

  20. Varimarthas5

More companies should release a something like that showing resolution and framerates per platform, this one is very good

  21. Jaded_Apricot_89

As a big FF fan, this is not worth it. Classic big company spreading themselves too thing. 9 platforms? Should have just been 3 platforms. The older ones with a patch for the new ones later on and a banging PC port later.

There simply aren’t enough next gen consoles.

  22. Rathanyel

Damn i must be living under a rock i didnt knew that crisis core remake will be on the switch as well!!

  23. Pedro_64

Ps4 pro is locked at 30fps too? Either the switch versión is well done, or they artificially capped framerate of old Gen consoles

  24. TCMgalens

I do wish we had more switch footage to go by since the preview footage was mainly focused on ps5 and the like and im not sure if any of the current reviews mentioned the switch version. (i dont think there’s any switch specific reviews either)

i understand that its likely due to wanting to show off the remaster at its best to show just how much its improved from the psp version but it would be nice to see what we are getting into with the switch and how well it maintains that framerate.

though from what i hear from people who got to play the switch version it does sound like its stable.
