first one is the radius where pokémon will spawn for you, second circle is how far out you can spin a stop or gym

  2. thatismynameyall

It’s the interaction radius. It show you if you can spin a pokestop or interact with an arena, the first one is the original and the bigger one was introduced during COVID to help ppl

What’s more curious for me is how come you’re lv 35 and don’t know about this…

Smaller circle is the spawn area for pokemon. A stop has to be in this radius to get lure spawns as well. Larger circle is for showing which stops or gyms you can interact with. I’m lvl 42 and only recently learned this myself. If you don’t know, ask! And don’t listen to the jerks on here that want to belittle you for not knowing instead of being helpful and answering your question.

First one is how far people could smell if you had done a fart. Second one is if you done a really bad fart.

Dawg why are you playing pokemon go on a highway

  7. Puzzleheaded_Pen_346

I always thought it was sonar. It pings off the Pokémon. That’s how trainers find imaginary pocket monsters nowadays. 😂

The blue one spinning round you is the daily inscese or insense the other two that constantly/consistently go out around you search for Pokémon around you, pick up poke stops/gyms so you can spin and interact with them.

A pro tip, Pokemon will most likely always run away from you when you use your incense while moving at what looks like highway speeds.

Small white circle is the radius in which Pokémon can spawn around you (I think), larger purple radius is to let you know how close you are to pokestops to be able to spin them

  11. As far as I know the larger one is as far as you can interact. Encounters with pokemons, spinning gyms and stops. The second one I only know that it is the range you can scan pokestops or gyms from

  12. steven6698

It’s for you to see how far you can interact

I read the sub as poke mongo and got really confused

just a lil additional info, it is call “Area of Influence” and the small circle has 40m radius and the bigger 80 =)

I’ve known since the day the game came out. It made sense when ever I was close and not close to poke stops and gyms. Always figured it was a “radar” of sorts

Yeah what are these circles for that only allow me to spin stops that are in them and only pokemon spawn in the other? So weird. Not sure whats is going on!

  17. Cordeceps

Its the Radius that Pokemon will appear in

Edit: I just learnt about how the large circle is for gyms and stops, thanks for asking this question!

god people are ignorant. ive been playing since pkgo released, and never actually thought about the actual info behind the circles. i kinda just see it as how far i can reach to get mons and gyms/stops i guess lmao.

  19. DistantEucatastrophe

They’re pheromones. She’s ready to mate.

  20. Kant-do-anything

I think it’s like your interaction radius. I can only use stops and gyms when the radius touches them. Nvm, someone already said it

  21. MariaEtCrucis

If I’m correct, the wide, outer one is your range; basically, how close you must be to a pokestop to spin it. The inner one is the closest pokemon can appear (I think).
