In this new design I imagined that there would be a new type of joy con where the buttons would have a rotating circle, so that they could stay in the same position, even in the strange joy con grip I made, also, in the analog sticks, there would be a light inside from the pluggable part of the joy cons which would detect input on the joy con grip and within the game would cause the analogue inputs to be rotated slightly so that up on this controller would be equivalent to up in the game

This seems like a lot of effort and work to fix a problem that doesn’t exist. Plus the shoulder buttons would be at a weird angle.

The shoulder buttons are still slanted and now the face buttons and directional keys are slanted for Split JoyCon and handheld use. This just doesn’t work OP. You also make redundant buttons which looks bad and there’s no way you can have the gyro function accurately with the JoyCons slanted like this. Also the Pro Controller already exists so this isn’t really necessary.

I got hand cramps looking at this but I really dig the idea.

The joy cons of the nintendo switch is far from the ideal layout for a standard controller, even with the grips. Because the joy cons have to fill in a specific niche thats very specific to switches design, one of em being, each individual joy con can be turned into its own minimal controller when turned sideways and it is for this reason the d-pads placement is at a weird location. Having a rotating d-pad and face buttons would also be terrible since you might accidentally spin them around while playing (don’t ask me how, but you will be surprised what people are capable of). Like before, great effort, but maybe pick up a book on design and usability and read up first. Not all designs are usable.
Edit: some people might like having buttons as their d-pad, but a whole lot of people really enjoy the cross shaped d-pad that you usually find on a standard layout controllers.
Edit 2: The nintendo pro controller has a very decent layout and design, the reason im saying that its decent is because its not perfect. There is no singular controller that is perfect in this world because different people have different needs, and some might be comfortable with the layout of the playstation controller, other people might prefer the x box controller, or even the n64 controller. There is even the case such as the joy cons, where it needs to fill in a very specific niche that the switch has and is very specific for certain use cases only. The joy cons are designed to fill in this niche and if the joy cons ever get a revision and nintendo decides to stick with the niche of each controller being able to turn sideways and become its own separate controller, i don’t see them changing the layout that much because i think having a more recessed d-pad or face buttons on the joy cons, would make using a joy con as its own individual minimal controller a terrible experience.

Why not just design a pro controller? Why you need to invent the whole new joy con to make this works?

Sure, add a rotating moving button layout to the already tiny and fragile joycon design. Good idea!

The angle of the joy cons still really dumb.
Sorry dude, it’s still terrible.
