I have connected the dock to the television using HDMI and have connected the dock to a brand-new Nintendo Switch power adapter. I have scoured YouTube and google, but I have done everything. I will take some pictures and sorry if this is a common question. BTW the HDMI is connected to 4 and I have tried with 2 as well under the same conditions.

Did you try 1) a different hdmi input for your TV and 2) a different hdmi cable?
Sometimes it doesn’t connect to ARC i had the same issue. Try another HDMI

I had this issue too. Turns out the switch wasn’t fully plugged into the dock. 🤦 If the green light on the dock blinks and goes out instead of staying on, the switch isn’t fully plugged in.
Just something you can try if nothing else works.
One of my TVs has an issue where it doesn’t like the system to be turned on before the TV, or vice versa (I forget which). I can usually fix that by cycling through the HDMI inputs, though, which it sounds like you’ve already tried.
Your post doesn’t specify, and as someone who troubleshoots stuff for a living, I hate to ask, but is your Switch charged and on?
Is it on?
Some tvs have more HDMI ports than the tv can actually handle.. unplug all the hdmi accordions flutes and thingy bits (edit:words), restart the tv and plug in chords 🎶🎼🎵 one at a time but leave one slot empty.
This is a stupid answer/suggestion but maybe it’ll help?
Have you tried waking the switch up with a different controller (any that aren’t on the switch) when it’s docked?
Idk if it’s certain tvs but mine would not show on my tv at all after I hooked up the dock and put it in there. I too thought that something was broken and tried all the different ports and what not. I messed with it for an hour. Eventually I figured this trick out and it’s worked for me ever since.
For whatever reason the tv won’t recognize there is something in that specific hdmi port until the switch is woken up.
Hope you can get it figured out!
Undock your switch unlock it and place it back. My tv sometimes has problems detecting it and I never figured out if it’s the TV or dock.
1. Verify that the HDMI cable works with another device
2. Verify that the HDMI is plugged in correctly in dock
3. Verify the Switch is charged and correctly positioned in the dock
4. Try other inputs on TV that are known to work
If it still doesn’t work. And you have other working devices, I’d assume the dock is faulty.
Is it a lite?(you can tell if it is because the controllers won’t come off)
You plug it in?
