I adore this franchise. The developer interview has me excited that this will be another great entry. Although it’s a genre I’ve never really played (besides Rollercoaster Tycoon when I was much younger) their history has me confident enough to want to check it out.

I’m sure this will be great but I just need a Dig 3 from these guys. Hopefully it’s one of the other games they are working on.

  3. OniEclipse

Niiiice. This looks great. Love me some Steamworld. šŸ™‚

  4. BluEyesWhtePrivilege

Not a fan of city builders on the Switch, you really cant beat playing them on a PC.

  5. Bluenymph82

I’ve never really done a city type builder before, but this looks amazing! I loved both of the dig games, so this is going right on the wishlist.

  6. I guess part of the charm of the franchise is how they can’t stay in a genre (except for Dig 1&2)

  7. All of their games are quite unique and well put together. I imagine this will be no different

  8. Farley2k

Nice. I like this company and their games so I will keep an eye on it.

The developers have yet to give me a reason to not be excited about another Steamworld game. I bought 1 randomly on 3DS (10?) years ago not expecting much and promptly played it nonstop until it was over. 2 was great, Heist was great, haven’t beat the card game yet though.

This is welcome news, can’t wait!

Dear god i got some serious Lego Rock Raiders vibes from that underground view. Watching Closely now..

  11. meatboysawakening

Looks great, though I will probably wait to hear about performance before getting it on Switch.

  12. Great game series. My biggest fear is that the final result might be full of micro transactions and DLCs!

Is Thunderful related to Image & Form in any way ?

The steamworld games were some of the first ones that helped me realized not all indie games are boring, cookie cutter, shovelware trash.

    Looking forward to this.

  15. fakefaircatch

Seeing the mouse cursor makes me hope they bring mouse support to the Switch version.

  16. AlohaSquash

Literally will buy ANY game with Steamworld in the title. These guys games are just so much fun!!

Loved Hands of Gilgamech or whatever it was called.

  17. Usual-Improvement685

Was hoping for another SteamWorld Dig.

  18. KGhaleon

We had two platformers, a tactics game, a card game and it’s only understandable that we go the sim city route now.

  19. TetrasSword

I like how it looks like there’s some RTS in the underground ā€œdigā€ areas. Really cool way to build on what the series has done so far in a new genre. Looks great in 3D too.

  20. Very intrigued, I’ve been a big fan of the Steamworks games for some time now. There’s also a demo currently on Steam!

  21. MotherOfQuaggan

Yooo more Steamworld! Looks like a town + dungeon builder? Looks fun šŸ™‚

Tiny bit sad its not dig 3, but that.. has to come at some poinz right? 😌

  22. Every3Years

Heist was my favorite but Dig 1 and 2 were also amazing. Quest was okay, just not into deck builders.

I’m just glad they aren’t going with The Gunk 2. It was fine and looked nice but so is taking a nap.

  23. tolthunder

It’s like the inverse of Dungeons/Dungeon Keeper, but you’re the good guys and you also have a surface-level land to build.

    Looks cool!

  24. GreggSalad

I was weirdly hoping for this to be 2D. Still excited to try it though.

  25. walpy123

I love Steamworld games! id definitely pick this up!

  26. crampedstyl

Does anyone remember Miner Dig Deep on the 360?

  27. WilsonKh

    Dungeon Keeper!

Hopefully this sim doesn’t become a traffic jam simulator

  28. SimplyQuid

I am a sucker for citybuilders. And with the track record of the SteamWorld games? Sign me up!

  29. munnster006

This might actually be my favorite 3rd party series on switch, this looks great!

  30. kohlmanne

Is their steam world quest game worth it? It’s the k my one I m don’t own for switch I think.

  31. DreadnaughtHamster

I just realized the Steamworld IP would make a great animated series for kids.

  32. Poopikaki

This looks fantastic. I loved the previous games.

  33. magmafanatic

    Oh neat.

I only stumbled onto these games a year or two ago. Got Heist first, loved that, picked up Dig, Dig 2, and Quest later.

  34. tacomang

This looks like it’s be great on PC (Keyboard + mouse), but suck to play on a controller. I’m interested to see how the control scheme would work. Looking forward to it nonetheless!

  35. itsgotime64

Part of me would love a Dig 3… but massive respect that they keep trying their hand at so many genres.

  36. neoslith

I love resource management and city builders, I’m just generally bad at them.

I wanted to like City Skylines but I just don’t understand how it wants me to do certain things and it’s hard to go back in the tutorial. I got Tropico 6 a couple weeks ago but haven’t sat down to play much yet with other games I’m currently playing.

But this looks wonderful, I look forward to it!
