Nintendo Switch

WARNING. VenomUK power supply

Had one of these chargers fry two of my official switch docks. Everything had been working perfectly fine until using the Venom ac adapter. They also don’t reply to support emails or tweets. Stay well away.

Now I have to somehow replace the chip on the dock motherboard that outputs video signal.

For chargers, power adapters I will usually go for the official one especially for Nintendo. Thanks for the beads up though.

Well no shit, you’re actually supposed to use the official cable for the dock, these chargers are made just for portable mode, the dock is not made to take the voltage from generic USB chargers

I bought one from Argos a few years ago. It charges the Switch more slowly than an official power supply but it’s been absolutely fine aside from that.

It’s pretty much common knowledge at this point to not use any charger but the official Nintendo one.

A good rule of thumb for technology is always use the official, first-party charger/power supply, if available. You spend a lot of money on a piece of tech, why risk the longevity of the device to save a few bucks?

LMFAO, I charge my switch with whatever handy and never had issues except when its too cold. and given that I live in a desert that rarely happens. b

Why get all fancy? Just get an Anker block and a usb c cable.

It’s been know since launch that you shouldn’t be using any charger or dock not made by Nintendo as 3rd party ones have a track record of bricking units.
