**TLDR:** *(or more like I didn’t pay so I couldn’t read)*
* Nintendo Plans to Increase Production to roughly 21 Million Units in Fiscal 2023
* Demand remains strong among shortages and it’s expected to match higher demand.
* Nintendo has told Suppliers & Assembly Partners to increase production starting April.
* While anaylists expect sales to diminish first due to the systems life cycle but also as speculation of a next generation hardware looms.
* Special Edition Themed Consoles are expected to be a target they will hit as Splatoon 3 OLED Edition was considered a success.
* Article also reminds you that BOTW Tears of the Kingdom is a massively anticipated 2023 release.
* Nintendo Declined to Comment.

It’s funny because there’s another article from just hours ago about Switch 2 Pro Deluxe dropping in 2024, and Here we have another article stating the direct opposite. That Nintendo is sticking with the Switch and doubling down.
WorldlyDear
If Nintendo really plans to make another 21 million switch systems then that would put them at 140 million sold or atleast shipped. If that’s true that would put them at a pretty favorable odds of beating the PS2 for the best selling console.
Obviously though there’s no accounting for consumer demand or if they would be able to sell that much

We ain’t ever getting a new Switch
Megaman500
I knew it. I always felt Nintendo (and probably Miyamoto) wanted to take PS2s throne of best selling console ever and the Switch might be their one chance to do so. If that means dragging out the Switch until 2025 or even 2026 then that is what they will do.

Makes sense. Tears of the Kingdom is going to definitely a big system seller and an OLED model was leaked for it. I also imagine something will be released later on in the year as well. Likely a new Mario game to coincide with the Movie.

Can you put the article here, no way I subscribe to their website.

If there’s not a “Switch 2” this year or at least not until holidays and BotW 2 is only on “current” switch systems, they’ll sell that many without issue
YellsHello
The base Switch model is still $299, same price as launch. That’s wild. These are very old components at this point that surely give Nintendo a relatively high profit margin for each console sold. As a final push in a year or so, Nintendo could cut the asking price by $50 – $100 and still make a profit on each console sold, and see a pretty huge sales boost of the consoles resulting in the relative ‘deal’. The PS2’s sales record really is within reach.

Youtubers: OH BOY, SWITCH PRO CONFIRMED.
WallStreetKeks
They can load so many classics and be set
rand_althor
Wasn’t Bloomberg the source of those Switch Pro rumors? Like, they had seen the specs and/or the hardware and YouTubers were using that to go on about the Switch Pro being confirmed.
Also, “to meet resilient demand”…it’s not like Switches are hard to find in stores.

From a business perspective, I get it. From a player perspective, it’s time for a significant upgrade. It was underpowered compared to its peers in 2017, and is now six years old. I’d rather at least a pro version with a significant spec bump than more of the same.

The year is 2030.
Nintendo are still releasing Nintendo Switch consoles whilst the competition are well into their newest hardware.
Joycon drift still runs rampant.

Sony fanatics: Yea its the best selling console because it’s the only one you can find
Reality: it’s the best selling console years in a row, because people just want the damn thing.
Sael-er
Really hope the nextgen is just a more powerful switch with a bigger screen and better joycons. No need to reinvent something that’s damn near perfect.
Stormy_Kun
Is there really that much demand still ? I readily see them in abundance at the stores. Asking cause outta the loop

All we want is Switch 2.0 with updated specs, same games, just better Switch.

If they could improve online gameplay while they’re at it, that’d be much appreciated.

Nintendo still hasn’t done a price cut. They could do a lot of damage with some small cuts

I want a stronger switch. Why can’t I have that.

I wonder if Nintendo forecasts the movie creating more demand for Switch units.

Just make the switch 2

Man I hope whatever they do next is backwards compatible with Switch carts…
Readyletsgodrones
I just bought a new blue switch lite yesterday because when I work from home, it’s handy to play at my desk, and small enough to play on the train into work when I go in.
I’ll just use my OG switch on my tv.
And it’s blue!! 😁.
I think when switch 2 comes out, it will sell great but the switch will keep selling well for a year or two after since the back catalog is just incredible.
Really hope the next system is backwards compatible, it would be a huge miss if it isn’t, but I think it will be.
Surely those little cartridges should be getting much cheaper to buy for developers now?
Crissaegrym
People are begging for Switch 2.
Nintendo probably already have it developed, but why release it when the Switch is still in such high demand?
They will release it when the Switch no longer sell.
porgy_tirebiter
Can we get some fucking hall effect joycons? Please?!!?
Griever114
Fuck. They are never gonna release a better console at this rate
Wheeljack2k
>Zelda-themed Switch is a possibility this year, analyst says
OMG, WOW – Wherever did this “analyst” get THAT idea?
