Did they finish it, or play 5 hours and crap out a video…

TL,DR: some minor visual changes were negative and less responsive gyro controls compared to Wii version. Other than that, one of the finest games ever made has been made even better.

Never played any Metroid games before except dread. Excited to try this one out

I remember ign giving battlefield 1942 their goty over metroid prime. I mean it was the online shooter to play that year.
But that was it for me. It was the flavor of the month, the ultra caramel chocolate kiwi flavor of the month. But Metroid Prime was a true classic like butter pecan. Sure enough Metroid Prime is standing the test of time.

Even the GC original is a treat to play to this day, the trilogy version is amazing and playing it with mouse and keyboard is great.
Prime top 5 in the best games ever for me.

another remaster i’m still terrible at.

Is this game even worth trying if you never cared about Metroid in general, even as far back as NES? I enjoyed playing Samus Returns on my 3DS but it got too hard and I gave up

Probably a hot take, but I think you can really see the age in the design. It’s definitely held up better than 99% of other early 2000s games, but I think it’ll be interesting to see if people who never played the originals love this game as much as those who did. The remaster itself is amazing though, and should be the industry standard

That door and snow complaint was weird.

Maybe I’ll get it, being only $40, but man I just don’t care for 3D Metroid for some reason. Only side scrolling

I love it. I didn’t get into the GameCube metroid games much as I liked the 2d ones more.
Finally rocking this game out. But boy do I have to look up where to go a few times over now after missing the objective and spending 30 minutes running around clueless where to go.
It’s a true Classic metroid experience!

I need to stay away from this game untill i finish my current game

I was wondering how this game plays, mainly how it holds up to today. I played the og way back when and loved the feel of being Samus and the overall atmosphere of the game. I’m especially excited about the updated dual stick control scheme.

Played the OG Prime on release, always loved Metroid from making maps of the NES one in my note books.
This one is a quality remake and has me up late like I was in my 20’s playing in the dark (better tv and sound now, higher risk of cardiac event when I see a Metroid).
Im also not at all upset about the price point and think you get a good 30 hours out of $30 at least. Im honestly surprised games have stayed relatively the same price over my purchasing life span (I bought MK2 on Sega for $55 in pre Y2K Bucks)

The original game is already such a master game, not expecting less from this, it was an easy way to grab our money

Sat down to play a bit yesterday before bed and was shocked at how great it looks and feels in handheld mode. Ended up getting sucked in and couldn’t put it down for a few hours.

Never played any Metroid games. Which to try first?

The new Charge Beam Delay drives me crazy, but everything else is great so far.

I have always considered Prime to be the closest thing to a perfect video game. Every aspect of it is executed flawlessly – the control scheme(s), the sense of progression, the environmental storytelling, the added lore via logbook scans, the momentum and inertia of the morph ball, the atmosphere, the music…

Almost 40 year old. Think I played Prime on the GC but bounced off it. Not sure which one it was though.
Bought this and played an hour ish through to when you get the rocket.
Excellent so far. Don’t think it’s the same one I played all those years ago.
A joy to play on handheld too. OLED makes it look damn sexy!
Looking forward to playing more but I’ve got a busy weekend!

Words can’t describe how much I dislike Alex’s presenting style

This makes no sense…..how how how does this game look so good. It makes no sense….all while at 60 frames .This game should not be able to play on the nintendo switch but it does.

Never played Metroid Prime before. What a game this is. Can’t believe I’ve missed out on this classic before today.
