Mario Kart 8 has sold 52 million copies, ANCH at 41.59 million, SSBU at 30.4 million, Zelda BOTW at 29 million copies. Pokemon Scarlet/Violet at 20.6 million already!!!!
Mario Kart keeps being that killer game, each and every time for a Nintendo console. Nearly 2:1 attach rate. That’s just crazy!

It looks like we are seeing switch software finally slump a little with more niche games line XC3 and Bayo 3, though Pokémon still sells insane numbers.

I started with NES back in 1990 or 1991 – forgot what year, and Mario Kart 8 deluxe is probably in my top 20 games of all time. put 100s of hours in to it, it never ever get boring. even played it with my parents, uncles, siblings – mario kart 8 feels almost perfect.

Everytime I see numbers about Animal Crossing I’m immediately ported back to covid just getting started and everyone locked down at home and how that game went from probably mild success to absolute gangbuster sales simply because of it’s timing.

Animal Crossing really was THAT game in the pandemic that brought immense escapism and relief. I do wish Nintendo had continued to update it – there’s so much more that could be done!
