I’ve played the demo on Steam. It’s great and I feel like it’s equal parts Contra and Castlevania. Maybe a Contravania? It’s good.

Will probably look super fucking awesome on my 16:9 widescreen HDCRT, pixel art games usually turn me off on any other HD displays, the softness of the tube really makes it look closer to what lower res classic games actually looked like on older TV’s.
