Actually shocked they did not charge $59.99 tbh.

I really hope Prime 2 and 3 get this treatment. This looks amazing.

  3. Riomegon

Anyone with working eyes could tell it’s a full on remake.. The original was a Gamecube game…

I hope this shuts people up about how this is somehow not worth $40 because dear lord did Retro nail this remaster

This makes every other $60 “Definitive Versions” or “Remasters” on the Switch look like they were developed by GameFreak’s janitors

Looks like this AND it’s only 40 dollars? An absolute win. GG Nintendo.

Wow, yeah with the initial reveal trailer, my gut instinct was this looks really good. I suspected that it was redone, but I didn’t realize just how much of improvement there was. Honestly, I’m totally okay with the $50 CAD ($40 USD) price tag since it’s clear, they did a ton of great work with the new textures and lighting, it looks like a whole new game!

  7. I like how you can see the rain actually drip down from Samus’ arm cannon. Pretty neat detail!

  8. I still can’t believe this game is 21 years old
I remember when it first released on the GameCube I was just a young kid damn where did time go?

  9. stereoprologic

Now compare it to PrimeHack with HD textures

damn the wii looks so potato next to the switch remaster

I, for one am happy that we are FINALLY getting gamecube remasters.

Sunshine from these games was already so long ago.

How does Nintendo do it making games look good with dinosaur outdated hardware?!?! It really amazes me…. Seriously HOW?? We can only dream if hardware was like PS5/XSX 🤤🤤

  13. Avelion2

No a remake but remaster that blurs the line for sure.

imma go to the bottomless pit of downvotes but wii looks better to me…

  15. If they have time to remake 2 and 3 this degree before release of 4 holy cow… wtf

Seriously!!! If you told me it was a remake, I wouldn’t have questioned it at all. I’m about 2 hours in (just regained my ability to shred the half pipes) and it’s just plain phenomenal

$40 for one game isn’t the absolute best value you could get for a visual overhaul, but for once Nintendo is actually charging a normal amount for it. Metroid Prime is a masterpiece and I can see myself buying this when the physical version comes out.

  18. It’s a remaster. A very good remaster, but a remaster nonetheless, as even the title of the game implies.

Remake would imply reworking the engine itself from the ground up. Link’s Awakening for the Switch is a good example of what a remake is.

I wonder if the aiming will be stabilized to the center screen like traditional FPS. Looking at the GC/Wii version, it looks like the arm canon moves the camera when pushed to the side of the screen when not locked on. I really liked Prime but I don’t know which camera movement I would prefer.

new graphics. 40 bucks please. thank you. see you in 20 years for another 80 bucks

Only had time to play through the intro yesterday but it was great. The opening shot looked amazing on the oled model having pure black when the camera is going around space. I’ve been hoping for ports of 1-3 for switch for years but this is even better especially having so many different control options. I assume they’re doing the same with 2 and 3.
