I played this game until 5am when it came out and I was in high school. Will be interesting to see how it hits as a middle aged man.

The pointer controls are actually really well done, so I’m surprised they laughed it off like that (then again, they were using a pro controller, and not two joy-cons).

I was thinking about getting this but I’m not sure since I’m not the biggest fan of first person shooters so I’m wondering if I should also I use a controller instead of the joy cons

something I see a lot of people seem to miss or just not bring up when going over the new controls: dualstick+gyro is an option (and imo as someone who got really used to this kind of setup in things like Splatoon and BotW, it’s the best option)
if you have the controls set to dual stick, there’s a different camera option in the settings that lets you pick between ‘stick only’ and ‘stick plus gyro’.

This game definitely is a lot shorter than I remember as a kid, then again who knows because I was a kid. Beat my first playthrough in 8:45.
This game runs so well, and has a perfect difficulty even with the new controls. I hope anyone that hasn’t played this masterpiece yet gives it a try. This is truly an iconic game from the GameCube era that stands the test of time. If you told me this was a new game released in 2023 I’d believe you. Hope the sales numbers reflect how well done this whole remaster was.

I’m thinking about getting it, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it at $40.

Funny how Digital Foundry only gets upvoted on this sub when it praises Nintendo.

Isn’t the $20 Prime Trilogy gonna be on the Wii U eshop until a few weeks? If I can buy both this and Prime Trilogy should I just get the Prime Trilogy?
