When Jeff Grubb first spoke about Metroid Prime Remastered, he also said that his understanding was that Prime 2 & 3 would also be on their way, just not fully remastered.

I’d be alright with that long as they are priced accordingly and not the same price as the first one remastered. Better than nothing.

I hope there’s potential for the other two to get fully remastered if the first one sells well enough, though I bet Nintendo’s plans for this would be tough to change. They probably want all 3 released in the lead up to Prime 4, and trying to Remaster the other 2 before Prime 4’s release wouldn’t really work at this point if they weren’t already planning on it.

Hopefully if they’re just HD ports, I would either hope it’s only $40 like Prime Remaster or it has Prime’s 2 multiplayer being fully online functional, though I don’t see either of those as likely.

  3. Jeff Grubb also said that Wind Waker HD was coming to Switch, beyond a shadow of a doubt, around the time Skyward Sword HD came out. So, I don’t believe a word he says.

I’ve only ever played 3 on the Wii. Definitely going to get Prime Remastered, but whether or not I go for the others will depend on how fully or not fully remastered they are? Not sure why you’d set the bar so high to only chuck that bar into the bin for the next two, particularly with 4 seemingly releasing one day, perhaps.

Don’t say that. I need MP2 with the same treatment as the first one.

It would be a shame if 2 &3 didn’t get as good of treatment as Prime. I would really like to see Prime 3 with the dual stick control scheme. I don’t care as much for 2, but I do think it would be a neat curiosity if they were able to make the multiplayer online.

  7. Hopefully we at least get updated controls then

I really would love proper remasters like we got with 1 tho

I imagine that Nintendo are going to base wether or not to fully remaster 2 and 3 on how well Prime 1 sells.I’d honestly just be happy for them to port 2 and 3 with the new control scheme, but it getting the same remaster treatment would be great, because Prime 1 remaster is absolutely gorgeous looking.

  9. Grubb has sources 100% for me, thing is, Nintendo is extremely vigilant regarding leaks and even tricks some insiders and give them fake information to track them down.

So anything you hear: switch pro “drake”, new switch, wind waker, Metroid collection, a new Mario synced with the movie…don’t take it for granted, at all.

Nintendo in the end they do what they want, Advance wars or Metroid prime have been developed and ready to release for months/years.

This seems much more plausible of what will happen. People don’t understand how hard it is to make (and remaster) video games. One moment you hear rumors, the next the game is “Available for Download Later Today” and people are already making comments about where is MP2 and MP3? A remaster, especially a top-notch one of this caliber is still a huge undertaking.

Would I love MP2/3 Remastered? Of course! But this is *so* much harder to do than you might think and so if we ever do get them, MP4 is FAR away my friends because it will take them 2 years before you could get those games. And if MP4 takes until 2025… from a money perspective – no matter how awesome these remasters could be – it makes so much more sense to release MP2/3 as *upscales* rather than full remasters.

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen this story posted since the Direct last week

Though i wonder if hunters will get some form of remaster

  13. The-student-

Having them is better than nothing, but a bit disappointing they won’t match the same quality.

  14. RetroLaserbeak

As long as they get the twin stick control scheme Prime 1 got, I don’t care if they’re remastered or just HD ports

  15. FledgeFish

The prime remaster is so damn good, it’s be such a shame if 2 and 3 didn’t get the same treatment

  16. Quigleythegreat

The assets and engine are (almost) all there for Prime 2, just do it! Prime 3 just upscale, smooth out, and texture a bit as needed.

  17. JdPhoenix

I don’t believe for one second that they would release Prime 1 fully remastered, then just do basic ports of 2+3 .

  18. NoMoreVillains

The thing is, they kind of have to be remastered now given the benchmark this set, which is further compounded by MP1 being the highest rated of them. Anything else will make them seem underwhelming to most people IMO

  19. A_Dummy86

I’m just tired of rumors at this point, it happens when it happens.

  20. Space-Debris

Please stop giving this grifter undeserved fame and attention. It’s all guesswork. He doesn’t ‘know’ anything more than you or I. If he did, he wouldn’t be wrong so much of the time.

Plot twist: they remake metroid prime hunters with 16 player online and 6 player head to head campaign where you have to race to beat all the bosses and hunt down other players if they get the MacGuffins first to steal it.
