It’s a lot more rare than ho-oh. You still have time to grind ho-oh raids for another shiny.
Ho-Oh will return, there is a good chance this specific Pikachu will not. You got an amazing deal.
Shiny Ho-oh is a 1/20 chance from raids/GBL rewards, so it’s not rare at all. This Pikachu may never come back, and even if it does the shiny odds are 1/500.
If you really want another shiny Ho-oh make sure to use your daily raid pass, and maybe buy a few more passes next week if you still don’t have one to do some more raids for it.

When did this one come out? I’ve got Pikachu with two different baseball caps on, but not this one. I stopped playing for a few years, but I do have one from like 2017! I would not regret this trade at all. I love event Pokémon, and shiny pikachu is like near impossible for me to find. I have one shiny birthday pika .. that’s it! Definitely jealous I don’t have her 😆

This Pikachu only got released once in 2018. It’s never come back.

Of all the events this and the one piece event Pikas’ has me. I’d trade anything I had. Just as much as an armor Mewtwo, I just watch that movie at 27 to connect with my young me.

Ho-Oh comes and goes. That hat was a one time thing we’ve not seen since (which makes it all the sweeter that one of my former managers released his shiny one by mistake). If the Ho-Oh didn’t have great stats, then this is an absolute win. You can always go for another Ho-Oh before it vanishes from raids or the next time it is in raids.
Definitely 130% the beneficial move for you. Shiny costumed Pokémon are much rarer than the shiny of their regular counterparts.
Shiny Legendaries have much easier odds, so you definitely got a great deal!

That is Fragment Hat Pikachu, available from 10/5/2018 to 10/7/2018 only. It was a collaboration between PoGo and designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. It was a full-odds shiny for only those 3 days and is therefore extraordinarily rare. There is basically no chance of it returning.
It is capable of evolving to Raichu, which is rare for old hatted mons. It was released before Elite TMs, and evolving a Pikachu with Surf was very low priority for most trainers during the 2018/2019 December Community Days, so there are very few trainers who have Fragment Hat Raichu with a legacy move. Easily one of the rarest things in the game. Very fun Elite TM candidate.
If you wish to buddy up your very rare shiny and match your avatar to it, there should be a matching free hat for your avatar.
aside from the numerical rarity (which is alone a solid argument), the fact this is pokemon w/ a Fragment cap adds value in and of itself; especially if you follow fashion/streetwear or you’re like me and you idolized every Japanese streetwear brand Lupe Fiasco wore from 2006-2010 lol. either way, i think you made off well. especially cause you can likely catch another shiny ho-oh.

I got this kind of pikachu (not shiny) and evolved it into Raichu.
I was relatively new to the game and didn’t think about getting a 2nd pikachu so now all i’ve got is that raichu with the hat😅still pretty rare imo

This one will never come back. You got one of the rarest shinies in the game. Of all the shinies in my collection, this one is my favorite, and I have a lot of shiny costumes. Very good trade for you, congrats.

I’ve got that frag hat pikachu and I would never trade it. I remember being so happy and amazed when I caught it in my lounge room on the last day it was available.
… I have 4 of the SS pikachus. Didn’t realize it was rare. I probably dumped a bunch too that were lower EV’s. Not shiny though. at some point, I needed to dump a whole bunch, for space. the only shiny “hat ” pikachu I have is the one with the sushi chef hat.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but apparently this shiny pikachu was only out for two days, during the promotion of a Pokémon clothing line or something? The only shiny pikachu rarer would be detective hat pikachu. Also as I’m sure a lot of others have pointed out you still can raid for another shiny hooh 🙂

I refuse to transfer the few normal ones I have as it’ll never come back. It was a promo with a fashion line. I remember even grinding for a good one.

This pikachu varriant was avadalivle for only 3 days. It’s known as one of the rarest shinies you could obtain due to the time limit.

As far as rarity goes, it’s not obtainable anymore, so it’s scarcity increases with each player that has one that stops playing. It can be evolved too. I’d still rather have a shiny Ho-oH personally, but there’s still time to get another one, then you’ll have beaten the system.
