“Wow, we got a pretty difficult rotation last time. Maybe this Gauntlet will be easier?”
DeNa: *laughs maniacally*
This is the second hardest rotation we’ve had, and the only reason it’s not the hardest is because Tapu Bulu is a much easier stage than Uxie. They’re probably gonna surpass the second Gauntlet in terms of difficulty soon (especially with Terrakion being added to the mix) but for this one, we have the (dis)pleasure of dealing with Moltres again. Moltres is one of the most difficult arenas in the game, and its demanding stage will definitely be the one that dictates how long Gauntlet streaks will be.
While it’s tempting to just throw all of your best units at Moltres, ignoring the other stages isn’t a good idea. The previous rotation already showed how annoying Latias’s stage can be, though fortunately the teammates needed for Latias don’t particularly overlap with those for Moltres. Bulu is one of the easier arenas and teambuilding for it is much simpler, but anyone going for a long Gauntlet streak will find that having to manage all of the demands for Moltres and Latias won’t leave you with much to work with for Bulu, making clears harder than they should be.
A streak of 12 is much easier to aim for though, and there are enough F2P units to help you get there. Like the previous Gauntlet, I’m opening up my roster to the BP units as I very much need some of their kits, but I refrained from using Trainer Lodge units as well as event freebies like Kali. The two exceptions I made are EX + power-boosted Giovanni and Classic Giovanni, as both of them are available right now.
Here are the time stamps for each clear. Check out the pinned comment for the sync grids used and individual write-ups:

Here's how each battle went and the sync grids used. Check out the reply for the rest of the write-ups:
Bulu 1: Kahili / Nanu / Drake – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=005600005301&s0=3&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=4111&g0=AAECAwQFBggKDA0RExUWFxobHiEjJSYn&v1=005800073300&s1=5&l1=140&r1=4&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKDQ8RFBcaHR4gLw&v2=009400037300&s2=5&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=4411&g2=AAECAwQFBgcRExYXGhseICEkJScqLQ
I think the only thing you have to watch out for here is that you'd want both Kahili and Nanu to maximize their crit asap so that they can start dealing consistent chip damage and flinches respectively. They do have their sure crit trainer moves to help them out with this, but you'd want to save one of Kahili's for Bar 3. Drake can be replaced by any tank (and a bulkier one would even make this easier), but I brought him specifically for Team Sharp Entry 1 to help his teammates' setup.
Latias 1: EX Giovanni / Oak / Liza – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=013700015100&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=4411&g0=AAECAwQFBgsNGx8hIiMkJicoKQ&v1=014001015000&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=4441&g1=AAECAwQFBhEUFRgbIigrLi8&v2=003000033700&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44141&g2=AAECAwQFBgcICg0ODxMWGSYpLA
Giovanni's EX gives him a much easier time against Latias as it allows him to use his sync to take down the sides more quickly. Oak is one of the best answers to Latias as long as Swift's Unfortuitous 9 consistently targets different stats, but it does give you a safe move to click on against Latias's evasion shenanigans in Bar 2. Liza completes Giovanni's Sp Atk buffs and lets the team better tank Latias's special moves, and she also gets to sync here for Synchro Healing.
Moltres 1: Crasher Wake / Winona / EX Skyla – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=004200027900&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44441&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQoNEBEaHB8hIiM&v1=001000041900&s1=5&l1=140&r1=3&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFBgcICw0QHB0eICIuLw&v2=001600058100&s2=3&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=44411&g2=AAECAwQFERIUFRcYGiUoKQ
If you're not going for a long streak for this Gauntlet, I really suggest bringing two flinchers against Moltres. You can get away with quite a lot if you don't let it attack, and as you'll see in another clear in this run, you can even do so without changing the weather. This one uses Winona, whose combination of rain and flinches makes her a great answer to Moltres. Skyla appreciates the rain for the regen while Crasher Wake is the main damage-dealer, mostly against that dangerous second bar. Since Winona only has three uses of rain, you'll have to make sure that you're able to skip the second halves of both Bar 2 and 3 (or, if not, hope that you land all your flinches).
Bulu 2: Whitney / Will / Erika – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=004700017800&s0=5&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=4111&g0=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4VGCMkJyot&v1=002600024100&s1=5&l1=140&r1=4&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=41111&g1=AAECAwQFCBEdICMlJyosLS4v&v2=000800004500&s2=3&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=17041601&t2=44411&g2=AAECAwQFBggLDhAREhQXGh0eHyMkJig
Always fun to use Whitney in these F2P clears as she always exceeds my expectations when it comes to her sync move. Erika and Will activate her innate Static Shock and Interference Sync multipliers respectively, leaving Whitney to take care of Inertia on her own. You'll also need to be a bit lucky with Mad Strength procs to boost Whitney's damage.
Latias 2: EX Ghetsis / Brock / Roxanne – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=001500009500&s0=3&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=13010602&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFERIVFxgZHR4fICMk&v1=019500064600&s1=5&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=4111&g1=AAECAwQFBggLDRobHiEiIyQlJigq&v2=004400047600&s2=5&l2=140&r2=3&p2=0&a2=17010101&t2=44111&g2=AAECAwQFERQVFhkaHB4gIyQ
Ghetsis alone already accounts for Fluid Fortification, but without his expanded his grid he needs quite a bit of help in sustaining gauge and keeping himself healthy. Roxanne helps with the former, having Wide Guard to also block that Bar 3 Earthquake, while Brock helps with the latter with his Potions. He also hastens Ghetsis's setup by giving Speed debuffs of his own.
(I don't think Ghetsis's EX is needed for this – his sync damage is high enough without it.)
Moltres 2: Candice / Agatha / EX Classic Giovanni – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=006100009400&s0=5&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=18050301&t0=41111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcJERIUFhkaGx0jJCUmKSw&v1=002500046000&s1=5&l1=140&r1=3&p1=0&a1=13010602&t1=44411&g1=AAECAwQFBgcVGBkjJSksLS4v&v2=014003005300&s2=5&l2=140&r2=4&p2=0&a2=21010101&t2=444&g2=AAECAwQFExYZGhscHSUmKSssLQ
Candice will of course go to Moltres for this rotation so she can change the weather, but you have to account for her Fire weakness – she won't be able to take a lot of hits. Taking away the sun does open up Moltres to more counters, most notably status – and it doesn't get immune to Agatha's Hypnosis as long as the sun isn't shining. Classic Giovanni completed the team as his regen gives both himself and Agatha a way to ignore the Hail damage.
(If you're viewing this at a later date and you weren't able to get Classic Giovanni, you can replace him with any crit buffer you have. Cobalion is a great choice if you got it from the BP shop since the Defense debuffs will help Candice's damage as well, but any other crit buffer would be fine.)
Crasher wake :0
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I think it’s very kind of you to help out everyone with gauntlet for the people who don’t have as much units keep up the awesome videos 😊
Thank you for this! Just want to ask tho, on Siebold run, why do you use Aura Sphere over Water Pulse on Bar 1 and 3?
I just got my 12 streak and finished there. I’m not patient enough to deal with Moltres and Latias at the same time.
Thanks for making these! I find it kinda strange how we got back to back Latias LGs, but I’d definitely take it over someone like Uxie. Hopefully Terrakion doesn’t come to the LG anytime soon lol
Since we can build more teams on team builder I'm organizing my teams for the first 30 battles
I'm going to go for a 1 eggmon per team challenge
I finished organizing my teams for the Latias and Moltres battles (since they require debuffers and weather setters) so all that's left is to build my team for the tapu bulu battles
