Patience pays off again. Seems like there are enough places still out there that recognize demand continues to exist for physical media that eventually most things will get a physical release. For some reason it really seems to offend people on this site when I say I refuse to support digital only games, but like there’s so much out there that I could hardly afford the time investment to play it all anyway, so the ones that try to push this all digital bullshit are just the first to not get my money.

I had no issues with it on switch in handheld mode. It started to stutter a bit at times after long play sessions, but a simple save/restart fixed it, and i’m not gonna count that as a major issue.

Jealous of those who get to play this for the first time.
It’s frontloaded with Zelda-like exploration and combat, and back ended with environmental puzzles with varying sizes of scope, reminiscent of the Witness or Fez. Tunic also has the greatest single puzzle in all of gaming imo. There’s also a knowledge progression system akin to Outer Wilds that can be easily spoiled, so be careful with seeking help online. I recommend asking r/TunicGame for hints when you get stuck (or you can dm me), they’re very protective of the game’s secrets while still being helpful.
Also the soundtrack is just lovely. A+ game

Think it looks like Zelda? Think again. Think it looks like cutesy isometric Dark Souls? Think again.
Tunic has so many brilliant secrets and really rewards the player’s intelligence and curiosity. It’s a game with a retro aesthetic that does so many interesting, modern things with its overall design.
Go in blind and prepared to have your expectations repeatedly turned inside out. Can’t recommend this game enough.

I played up through I guess you could say the second main area on xbox with gamepass, but I wanted it on switch. Was holding out for a physical release and this is looking perfect.

I played through this game on Xbox and will probably never actually put this cartridge into my Switch, but I bought it almost entirely for a physical copy of the instruction booklet.
Then I also bought the deluxe hardcover version because I’m a sucker like that.
Either way, fantastic game absolutely worth playing.

If you have an Xbox or Playstation just get it on there. It’s pointless getting 3rd party ports that perform worse on the Switch. The Switch should be relegated to 1st party or cheap indies imho.

The completed manual is sincerely the biggest spoiler in the game. The main puzzle for most of the game is finding pages of the manual in game and using the pages as clues to figure out what to do next. If you go through the manual before finishing the game you will not enjoy it nearly as much.
