Nyxi GameCube JoyCon Review & Comparison to WaveBird – Come on, Nintendo!

Ordering was easy. Delivery came a solid two months before I expected, so that’s cool. They are in stock as of 17-03-2023, so I think if you ordered them now you’d see it in two weeks!
The first time I had my hands on one of these, I was disinterested mainly because of the large C stick.
Now that I have another, I gotta say… they’re pretty great. I do not like the clicky triggers, but I played Pikmin 3 for an hour after the video session, and they really didn’t get to me that much during gameplay. The height difference with the face buttons is… unfortunate, but not a dealbreaker. I think the back buttons are silly, but I just don’t map them. The colour is great. The feel is great. The face buttons are membrane (thankfully).
All in all, if you’re looking for a GameCube JoyCon and are fine with the clicky triggers and larger C stick, I say go for it! I think that even if that stuff does bother you, you’ll get used to it as I have. I am also annoyed by the lights, but I devised a very simple fix for that. Video for that will come later.

Do you have this controller? What do you think of it!?
Do you want this controller? Is $70 fair?
I’ve used them for at least two hours now (maybe closer to three). I think it’s pretty good, and I hope that there are future batches, and regular-sized C Stick replacement caps!

I would shell out far too much money for a Nintendo GameCube JoyCon. I wish that Nintendo would see that there’s a market for this and just do it. I’ll continue buying third party editions until they do. And if Nintendo released their own, then we’d see third party versions of it popping up left and right.
Playing Pikmin 3 with these JoyCons feels right. GameCube games on Switch, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Man, I kind of REALLY want one even as just a nifty collector’s piece!

I have one, my only complaint is it feels like the buttons have to be pushed more? I don’t know the terminology. Overall though it’s very solid. I wish I could set them up for PC usage!
