Everyone says this everyday, but will anyone ever do anything? No. Niantic know this so they take advantage.

You think that’s bad – u shd see what’s going on over at r/clashroyale rn

600 million download worldwide. 100 million active accounts. 30 million daily users.

    VS

Less than 5 miliions total users here in the largest sub worldwide. And less than 3000 daily active users.

So even if everyone uninstalls, the loss would be less than a 1%, and the profit from more people raiding in person is more than 400%

So, nothing? It will have no effect like each and every time a change was made.

Remote pass bundles never went back to 250 coins. Legendaries never returned to weekly rewards. The weekly 1 coin box is gone forever.

Every single boycott and strike since the game started always ends up as a failure.

as a free to play player I laugh at your boycott, and quote Bane. You merely adopted the boycott. I was born into it and molded by it. I’m a free to play player, and you’re simply playing the part.

Eh. Never have been big fan of remote raids. Really killed a lot of the local communities

I mean technically speaking we did know this was coming, just not the exact specifics. Niantic mentioned it and it was leaked weeks ago.
This is clearly a horrible decision, but saying “no communication” isn’t accurate

I don’t mean to be a cynic about the whole ordeal, but F2P and rural players have been shafted over for years now and *this* is the straw that breaks the camel’s back?

If we can actually impact them this time, good. I hope I’m proven wrong.

I’m f2p, mostly uses daily free pass and buy pass through coins, now this update gonna burn out all my saved coins and enthusiasm for playing

It needs more than a week. Niantic will have known there will be backlash and will have planned for players to boycott for a day or a week. We need to boycott long term until they listen to us so it impacts them beyond the budget hit they will already have planned for and they are forced to rethink.

They will be just fine. People will still play because they are soft and addicted. 90% of the community probably only runs 5 raids a day. To cover the lost revenue from the 10% they doubled the cost of passes. The whales will cover their losses

Doubling the cost will cover their lost revenue as long as people still run half as many raid as normal.

Then you add in the valuable location data from forcing people out to gyms to raid. They know what they are doing. I doubt they lose money unless people really stop playing for a month or so and disable adventure sync.

The question is how much abuse will the community take?

  11. Is there going to be an official buddy Pokemon? Named something like Strike4623.

In the past for bad events I used Trubbish and named it after the event. Friends need to know we are striking! If they aren’t in a community they might not know.

Something to let friends know not to waste one of their five invites to a remote raid on us… It’s going to be hard to find help for sure.

Just don’t play the damn game. Take control of your lives back

I’m just gonna copy-paste what I said when I saw this in another sub.

This isn’t a “strike” if you keep playing the game. Want to send a message that will actually do something? Uninstall the game and encourage as many other people as possible to do the same. This, as it is, will do and accomplish nothing.

I do not care if this says “don’t be negative!!!!” at the end. This will accomplish nothing, because it does not hurt their bottom line. Niantic sells user data for profit, arguably they make more money doing that, hence why they keep tightening up remote play. If you keep playing the game, you are handing your data over to Niantic, and they will keep selling that data. This means you objectively hurt the cause you are trying to forward.

***If you want Niantic to listen, uninstall the game. This will accomplish nothing.***
