Fastest expansion pass ever. I think that this is just more evidence that Nintendo was sitting on this game for a while.
Hangmanned
Bruh, these are coming out faster than the latest Hopes update.
Kostya_M
Well I guess I have two weeks to finish Bayonetta Origins. I imagine this expansion will be meaty enough to last me right up until Zelda.
CeliLuci
Interesting! No mention of new game plus 🙁
GamblingGhost
Nice ! That leave me just enough time to finish my current run.
I wanted to play these three so much.
Iymrith_1981
I am super hyped but I would really like some form of new game plus even if it’s just some support conversations to carry over?
Brigantius
Can’t watch the video, but does the new campaign work the same way like it does in Three Houses? As in it’s difficult and unlocks classes for the main campaign?
Moznomick
Wow these came out very quickly. For those that have it, has any of it actually been worth it?
Radinax
This game is easily my GOTY, only Eiyuden Chronicles would surpass it.
I have spend nearly 200 hours, this game is fucking crack!
Happy to see updates coming so frequently as well, hopefully we get news about the FE4 remake

I am all for Alcryst being the rudest person in Elyos. He was one of my best characters in my play through, so I’m excited to see him talk smack for being so good at what he does
Ok_Statistician9433
I respect those who liked it, but this is probably my least liked FE game except fates. The emblem gimmick didnt really resonate with me. Now i find myself looking for a more traditional FE game.
Sad_Bat1933
They really cranked the DLC out quick huh. Wonder if it’s because FE4 remake is closer than we think and they didn’t want it to be too close to the last Engage content
Thunder84
Looks neat, hopefully the writing is a step up from the base game.
Seeing this released so soon makes me think that there’s gonna be another Fire Emblem announcement for this year.
Majorkiller104
Please just add ng+ now and we are golden

One of the things I really like about Fire Emblem Engage is how the setting, characters and story provide a framework for the gameplay to go into ridiculous directions previously unheard of in Fire Emblem games. With Three Houses, everything was so grounded that many of the mechanics that are present with the Emblem Rings might feel out of the place to a lot of people or at least incongruous. I don’t feel that way, but many modern gamers seem to value a symbiotic relationship between the worldview of a game and its gameplay, which is to say centered, less flamboyant games have less flashy gameplay in a lot of cases. I really enjoyed Three Houses and thought it was fantastic, but I definitely missed the more fantastical elements from the Gamecube, Wii and 3DS games. I like ethereal and otherworldly fantastical elements in my fantasy, the more, the better. I don’t dislike grounded fantasy, but it’s not my preference.
These new chapters they’ve added in the 4th wave really take advantage of that and I cannot wait to play around with what they’re offering. Engage is probably my favorite Fire Emblem because of the insane flashiness of the combat (I almost never turn off animations) and the sheer overwhelming amount of tactical options you have. I get into skirmishes just to have fun and challenge myself. (Also the trial maps are a lot of fun.) The more the game offers in the way of characters, emblem rings/bracelets and tactical options, the more fun it is to replay.
I know that many of the paid downloadable chapters decrease the difficulty, but that’s not all they do. Fire Emblem’s excellence as a strategy series is that you can make huge differences with very small decisions and every single little consideration counts. That means that if you end a turn and didn’t take the exact optimal usage of items, movement and equipping the right weapon to counterattack or take the right defensive options or place units in exactly a good way to support each other can make the difference between a unit surviving or not. For instance using a holy water to increase magic defense at the end of a turn or having units next to you to chain attack, or bait the enemy. Being able to rewind time only does so much. What the extra emblems (and I’m guessing characters from this extension) do is make it easier to widen how you will approach a situation successfully. Fire Emblem is easy to understand because it’s not as complex to control as other SRPGs, but it is very difficult to get a place where strategy novice won’t lose a great deal of characters even on normal.
Not only does the super stylized animation and over the top battles help you learn when you’re repeating things, but a little buff goes a long way in helping newer players remained engaged and not get disheartened. Without an intimate knowledge of stats and how mechanics work, the emblem rings allow people with less attention to detail and meticulous planning to broaden their horizons and see how it all works before they get hammered by the Fire Emblem difficulty curve.
I also like that the narrative in this game leans closer to the RPG side than the strategy side. I’m more interested in fantasy RPG conventions than I am in political intrigue or the details of how a nation works and defends itself.
Which is all to say, I can’t wait! I really, really want to see what the extra dialogue for the characters shown here looks like and is reflected in the main game. There’s so much juicy incidental silliness that is so much fun about all the personalities and I can’t get enough of it.

I finished my first run a few weeks ago and have been holding off from playing again until all the DLC is released.
I’ve been playing XC3 in the meantime, and it’s a fun game, but not one I can play easily while watching TV with my wife. The ironic part is that I just got into a massive plot hook, which means I now want to know how that game ends before coming back to Fire Emblem.
Any_Advantage_2449
First fe game and honestly I thought it was only mediocre. The combat was fine but was not even really a challenge the tactics needed were very one note. The story was bad. Overall I was pretty disappointed. Maybe I am looking for something different.

After April, Fire Emblem will enter a drought period…until the June direct when a Genealogy remake gets announced.
Ronene
The thrilling conclusion to a very poorly written story.
While the plot and script were complete unredeemable disasters, I did welcome the ability inheritance system and the return of the weapon triangle. The battles and plethora of skirmishes are what really shine in this game and has kept my interest enough to actually finish it. I particularly enjoyed the reenactment battles of Fire Emblem past, honestly the only good thing about the returning characters. Otherwise these characters are shadows of their former selves and read like their appearances in Fire Emblem Heroes/Warriors, which I equate to bad fan-fiction.
EtheusRook
If we could have Engage tier gameplay, with a story on par with Path of Radiance, Three Houses, or Geneology, it would be the greatest SRPG of all time.
RayearthIX
So this is a completely separate story, like the Ashen Wolves DLC in FE3H, or is this a side story played from within the main campaign?
JaxckLl
Fire Emblem has just become a farce of itself.
For_real0
Hopefully we can keep the hounds after the dlc story ends!
crazyredd88
Ugh, some of the dialogue in this…I know 3 Houses was anime-esque too, but this feels straight up Genshin level
