Brilliant. Now Niantic definitely won’t change raid passes back, at risk of rewarding that kind of disgusting basement dwelling behavior

  2. schenkie17

People are really losing their fucking mind over a few bucks. I just don’t get it. Don’t buy the passes. Uninstall the game. Fine, but this is to much…

    Boycotting? Warranted

    Criticism? Warranted

Equating human lives with some amount of money? Never warranted. Act your age not your shoe size.

  4. Basket787

Lol, what an idiot. Like I’m upset, but I also have a life and other things I can enjoy. Like literally any other video game.

  5. So to be absolutely clear, we DO NOT condone that type of behavior. Anyone doing that is taking things WAY too far.

  6. Cordeceps

Thats ridiculous. What a reason for someone to send a death threat. What a bad image for the community in general 🙁

  7. NicholasLatifi22720

Pathetic like imagine threatening a guy over a fucking game

  8. FranklyNinja

    Boycott: yes

Death threat: wtf is wrong with you.

Imagine going to jail or threatening peoples lives for a game.

  9. dotheysmell

You’re on the internet of course this will happen. 1 person vs MILLIONS of complaints. Nothing will happen it is fine.

  10. Arcane_Animal123

I don’t love that this horrible action will be used to attack the movement to strike on the 6th. One bad actor doesn’t mean a whole movement is corrupt

  11. CommissionHerb

Death threats are handed out like perfume samples these days. People are sad.

  12. RayneDwarf

Bot/Niantic post.I will always condemn every threat of violence. Niantic will use any example of it to shut down player efforts. Reading this title on its face implies that the entire reaction from the player base is responsible for this. We are not. Don’t let dishonest discourse sway you.

  13. theWatcherIsMe

Ive never seen death threats confirmed by anyone who claims it. Usually it is an easy way to turn yourself into the victim after you royally fucked up, instead of apologizing

  14. copy and pasting my comment from the last post i saw regarding this

its the internet, people make empty threats all the time and with the position you’re in you should expect it at this point.

i don’t condone it obviously but it really seems like he’s announcing this to paint the community in a bad light.

i might get downvoted to hell but idc i get threats all the time ESPECIALLY on twitter, get over it.

i mean if the threat included personal information then this is an entirely different situation and I would sympathize

  15. thatsthedrugnumber

Death threats boo hoo some fucking guy on twitter said “kys!!!”. grow a pair of fucking balls. unless someone is showing a weapon then it’s not a threat. it’s just someone talking shit. i have no fucking sympathy for this greedy corporation. death threats are the most overplayed sympathy card. if you did something bad all you have to do is say “omg i’m getting death threats 🥺🥺” and everyone will suck your dick

  16. Alternative_Worth806

Of course this an absolutely foul thing to do if it really happened.

But it’s also suspiciously convenient for them, now they have an excuse to ignore criticism even more than what they were already doing.

  17. eldovaking

The only thing I want for Niantics employees who made this changes is for their burritos to fall apart when they eat them.

  18. This is way too far. Just delete the app. I’ve stopped playing because I disagree with some of the changes they’ve made.

  19. SphereofDreams

I thought the price raise was an April Fools joke 😬

  20. Cephylus

Is there proof of this death threat? I’m not denying it, but a lot of the time, people will play the “I’ve gotten death threats” just to make people more sympathetic to them and lessen the blow for the shit storm they created

  21. bitterney

Why threaten their lives when all they care about is their bank accounts? Don’t attack them as people, attack them as a business 😇

  22. blackbutterfree

Duh. Of course sending someone death threats for any reason is taking it too far.

But this is also the internet, and that’s most people’s go-to for when they’re outraged, so it’s not surprising in the slightest.

  23. When you play with people’s money, you play with their lives 😅

  24. BroskyJones

Plot twist… the threat came from a stockholder

  25. Super_Rando_Man

If they live in a different state it would be considered a terroristic act thanx to homeland. Is that worth it for a game nah. Hey maybe thay were nearly homeless and were planning on quitting pogo anyway. Now they can have 3 hots and a cot for the next 3-5 years.

  26. UnhappyJohnCandy

I would simply stop playing before I threatened to kill the guy.

  27. Sexybigdaddy

So… the niantic manager pays attention to the crazy person death threats but still ignores and doesn’t address the OVERWHELMING majority of the players and the same people. Good move

  28. gnpfrslo

Meh, I’m certain they receive several a year. More likely Niantic is blowing this one up to try to divide the community to drive attention away from the updates.

    Modern problems require modern solutions?
