Unlikely, but I wonder if this prompts Nintendo to pull the trigger on acquiring Creatures.

Only because iirc that’s basically what happened with Next Level and SRD. Current heads wanted to step down and essentially handed Nintendo the keys on the way out.

  2. TIL the composer for the original Metroid, Kid Icarus, and Dr. Mario games was the president of Creatures.

Good. I am hoping Nintendo takes over development of Pokémon video games completely or at least gives the rights to another studio. Otherwise, mainline games will continue being bad.

Edit: I am aware Creature does not make the games, but I am hoping that this is a sign that Nintendo will continue to involve themselves like this.

  4. Broke: maybe we get a real artist who doesn’t wanna release a game every year and actually cares about quality

Woke: here come the saudis baby

As a heads up: Creatures Inc is primarily responsible for the licensing Pokémon merchandise. They’re also in charge of the TCG.

While they did help out with 3D modeling for games and have developed a few spin offs (Ranger and Detective Pikachu being notable ones) a change like this likely isn’t going to affect the mainline games in any noticeable way.

I’m hoping this means a better future for Pokémon, but what does this mean for my 20th anniversary 3ds signed by Ishihara

  7. So what I’m hearing is all three Ranger games are 169% confirmed for full-scale Switch remakes, with a brand new entry coming early in the Switch 2 lifespan?????????

IS this a W for the pokemon fanbase or no?

Joe needed to comment on it multiple times, but a reminder:

This is Creatures, Inc. It should have very little to no effect on the games.

Creatures Inc handles the merchandising, anime, and Pokémon designs. GameFreak develops the games. Nothing truly will change with Pokémon going forward.

It’s worth noting that as of now, Ishihara is still the CEO of TPCi. This isn’t necessarily indicative of much changing with the franchise.

pls i hope this means pokemon will be good again

Maybe now we can get a good pokemon game

  14. Interesting to note is that the new CEO Yuji Kitano was previously a Managing Director and a Development Producer at Creatures Inc, and the new EVP Tomotaka Komura is the President/Manager/Director (社長 has multiple meanings I don’t know which one applies here) of Pokemon Center, the company overseeing of all the national in-person stores.

Hopefully some good change comes from this

What is the reason? Just retiring? I don’t think the TCG or merchandise was doing so bad that they would step down for those reasons.

*Sigh* for a second I thought it was Masuda and game freak

I guess I can throw my hat in the ring and apply. I’ve been playing Pokémon for 25 years, so I like to think I’m pretty qualified

Would be rad if Hip Tanaka would compose a little music freelance.

Can someone explain to me the role Creatures Inc. play in the Pokémon world? I’ll be honest, with the Pokémon Company, Game Freak, Creatures, and Nintendo… I don’t know who does what. Thank you!

  22. javierasecas

  23. Dull_Tumbleweed6353
