Ordering was easy. Delivery came a solid two months before I expected, so that’s cool. They are in stock as of 17-03-2023, so I think if you ordered them now you’d see it in two weeks!
The first time I had my hands on one of these, I was disinterested mainly because of the large C stick. Now that I have another, I gotta say… they’re pretty great. I do not like the clicky triggers, but I played Pikmin 3 for an hour after the video session, and they really didn’t get to me that much during gameplay. The height difference with the face buttons is… unfortunate, but not a dealbreaker. I think the back buttons are silly, but I just don’t map them. The colour is great. The feel is great. The face buttons are membrane (thankfully).
All in all, if you’re looking for a GameCube JoyCon and are fine with the clicky triggers and larger C stick, I say go for it! I think that even if that stuff does bother you, you’ll get used to it as I have. I am also annoyed by the lights, but I devised a very simple fix for that. Video for that will come later.

Do you have this controller? What do you think of it!?
I’ve used them for at least two hours now (maybe closer to three). I think it’s pretty good, and I hope that there are future batches, and regular-sized C Stick replacement caps!

I have them and I wanted to mod them so I could overcome their shortcomings.

The clicky triggers are great, even when not playing I’ve developed a habit of just pressing them since they feel so good.

The buttons could be better. I found out after opening them up that the reason why they’re not as clicky as other membrane buttons are that they literally have a hole in the button membranes so the LED lights can shine through the buttons.

T anyone who’s more experienced in modding controllers, I’d really love to know what kind of membranes I can use to make them clickier.

Other than that I love em. I’m not too picky on controllers and I just love the look of big gamecube cube joycons on my switch.

u/thatsyurbl00d Digital Click? Are you referring to the triggers?

How are these controllers for playing the n64 games?

Has anyone tried these with BotW? It seems like it would be fun to use these for TotK coming up but I’m just struggling to think if there’s some combination of buttons that would be hard to perform from switching to this over the classic ABYX layout.

Is the D pad a comfortable reach for retro games?

I’m tempted here but I really like my Hori split pad pro and I’m not sure I would gain much from this other than a little nostalgia kick.

The buttons and general feel is just cheap. I regretted the purchase

I got the Retroflag controller a few days ago and it’s the best I’ve tried, highly recommend it.

I just got a chance to use mine after it was delivered a few days ago. It felt fine when used handheld and attached to the Switch directly, but oh my GOD, the latency and dropped presses are completely unacceptable when wireless! I went into the “Test buttons” function of the Switch with it wireless and it dropped at least half of the button presses. Using the joystick to navigate menus is impossible because it is completely inaccurate.

I’m hoping that a full charge and second try will make these things usable.
