The Body Snatchers got to John. Not Johnnnnn.

  2. Radio-Halibut

Can you accept that people might have different views on this change? I don’t like the change either, but this sub downvotes any comment that sees it as a good thing then pretends no one thinks it is. Be real for a second lol

  3. PhantomLuna7

Cause not one of the millions of players could possibly have a different opinion than you 🙄

Edit: and of course I’m also getting downvoted for daring to have a difference in opinion. What’s that all about?

  4. QuietnotCalm

I hate the implication that the people negatively commenting on recent changes (myself included) don’t have the right to leave bad reviews. These bad reviews aren’t just dislike bombing, these are people being honest about their experience with the game. Just because your enjoyment of the game hasn’t been affected by the recent changes doesn’t mean that our experience is invalid. People have the right to leave a bad review if they had issues with the game just as people have the right to leave a good review if they are enjoying the game. I don’t hate the people who still leave good reviews, I’m happy for them that they can still fully enjoy the game. So why should people like this hate on us for expressing how we feel?

“During pandemic times niantic allowed the game played remotely”

No. We saved niantic damn ass from crush by played their damn game even when it was pointless during pandemic!

  9. JayDogon504

They thought making it 4 stars instead of 5 would make it seem more realistic and throw people off the trail 💀

  10. Resident-Scallion949

How is his review any less legit than any of the one star reviews?

BTW, this should be in the new megathread.

  11. SonOfRyder

The fact that they are actively pointing out that people are unhappy with the game and company, actually does enough justice to those unhappy with it.

Like think about it. People will see it if they read reviews before downloading and realize that there is unrest in the community. Then hopefully look up some of the stuff going on in the community before downloading. Thus giving them an informed opinion before installing.

Granted that is all in a perfect world. But I for 1 read reviews before downloading. And if others do, it make dissuade them before sinking their time into a bad player environment with a company that doesn’t care about them.

Edit: formatting, good old mobile reddit.

  12. noonesperfect16

There are legitimately people who think this way, believe it or not. I was actually talking about this in my WoW guild chat last night and this one guy who none of us were surprised about piped up and was saying he quit because Niantic decided to keep the “couch passes” and maybe he will have to play again now. I was just like “so.. you boycott the game over a feature that only ever made the game better for even you???” and he didn’t respond.

  13. DB_Coooper

How the hell do I even leave a review on Android? I don’t see the option anywhere and the instructions Google provides are outdated.

  14. ZoroStarlight

This needs the note: totally not bribed by Niantic

  15. So they agree that there are many players unhappy with the game but that they should all be ignored because this is how they believe the game is meant to be played. For people that claim it’s others that are ruining the game they really have a lack of self awareness.

  16. Here’s a crazy idea: maybe some people don’t agree with you.

    And that is completely valid.

  17. DayKlutzy6647

I wonder how many people this guy robbed before remotes were introduced. Jk

  18. Independent-Bear-604

There are tons of way to encourage people joining raids in person. Obviously, raising the price for remote battle is more for improving earnings instead.

  19. CoolCondition4141

Prior to remote raid passes I wasn’t able to successfully complete anything over 3* and maybe MAYBE. If I was lucky some 4 stars. In person raids don’t happen because people don’t gather for them regularly

  20. Red_Scream

Tbh I really dont care that they upped the price. No big deal to me. Sucks for rural players tho

  21. GorillaCannibal

If people have more fun going out and meeting new people, then there’s nothing stopping them. Niantic is making it less and less possible to play in the safety of our homes while making the game more expensive.

Why is making the game less accessible bad?
    – dangerous weather and climate
    – inaccessible to people with disabilities
    – predators using the game to lure people
    – impossible to play the game in rural areas

  22. irongrab

Pokémon players when someone has a different opinion to them: PROPAGANDA!

  23. Heatcanonbolt

Going after people who leave positive reviews seems so shallow. I get that most of this sub is very unhappy with Niantic’s decisions the last few years but not everyone shares the general opinion and they don’t have to.

  24. ConnorOhOne

Remember, leave 2 star reviews with at least 50 words. It’s harder to claim as spam.

  25. SonGoku1256

Dude’s a bootlicker for a company that will never appreciate him and clearly delusional if he thinks people will ever go back to “playing like they used to.” I can’t even get people to meet for a brief, mutually beneficial Lucky Trade let alone a whole group of people to meet at the same time and place for a EX Raid.

  26. MBcodes18

    First sentence is true
Second and third sentences are false
Fourth and fifth sentences are true
    Last sentence is false

  27. Pope_Squirrely

I left a very similar review the other day, except I left a 5* review. Keep up the good fight John Leuenhagen.

  28. Haunting_Secretary36

Remove this person from the gene pool please.

  29. TopAcanthocephala869

One of the biggest issues about all of this, that I never see anyone mentioning, is that *the fucking pandemic is still happening*. I dare any one of these bootlickers/Niantic plants to look at current daily death rates *around the world* and not feel some dread in their hearts.

Of course I’m giving these people the benefit of the doubt that they aren’t complete ghouls, so maybe that’s my bad.

  30. VSythe998

You should have seen this sub back in 2016. There were more privileged city players striking down any non city improvement ideas essentially the same way these “reviews” are doing; by strawmanning every complaint as “people being too lazy to walk.”

The funny thing is, there was another post of one of these “reviews” where the “reviewer” claimed the complainers were “people being too lazy to walk” while admitting that he has 2 gyms and 7 stops within range of his house.

  31. “This will benefit the only ones Niantic actually cares about. The rest of you should fuck off and not play anymore because you’re not who the want playing”

People who hate these changes: actual Pokémon fans 💁🏻‍♂️

  32. MissPicklechips

They’re the ones who squeezed the toothpaste out of the tube. It ain’t going back in.

  33. bakibakFIVE

Niantic just doesn’t understand that negative sentiment will decrease engagement even if the experience they’re shooting for is decent. I used to go out for walks way more frequently when I could also pop an incense at home during meetings that could have been emails and whatnot. I used to raid in person for 1 stars and 3 stars I could solo, but guess what I’m not doing anymore? It just doesn’t feel good to play this game at this point.

  34. Advanced_Procedure90

Can’t they be less obvious? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

  35. Fourier864

Do you seriously think just because someone has a different opinion that it must be the company itself? I think people can reasonably think “this is a GPS game, let’s keep it GPS oriented”.

  36. That’s very clearly a bot review – there are a few of them in the Android and Apple stores respectively. Almost the exact same verbiage, and it’s a 4ST so it won’t count against the store’s review bombardment policies.

  37. I think it’s funny that this community thinks anyone who disagrees with the rage fueled mob mentality is a plant and an employee. Idgaf about remote raiding and will continue to play and I do think making people go outside improves the game overall. So yeah.

  38. lululovegud

If they want to revert back to pre-pandemic that’s cool, the game was dead back then and remote raids helped bring players back in. They’ll see that in time

  39. YugureTwilight

The thing I hate most about these changes are the people who live in small towns and can’t do a lot of physical raids, me for example my town has a decent amount of raids but now one’s ever doing them therefore my only chance to do raids is remotely and these changes make it much harder to do so

  40. JayVoorheez

That sure is a lot to say with a boot in your mouth.

  41. aspookyfox

I wonder how much they paid this person for their soul
