They should cost $20 each, tops. Screw this “you’ll have lots of hours of playtime” statement. They’re freaking remasters (and not even stellar games to begin with).
Big_Concert3634
They sure have much confidence in pricing that
Alasdair91
I just bought these for $4 each on the 3DS eShop. $80 is a steep ask!
f-ingsteveglansberg
Honestly, would the price be as controversial if the released the games, with 5 months inbetween and charged 30 apiece?
Damaho
I’m gonna wait for a sale then. Played Etrian Odyssey 4 and Perona Q2, while both were fun, they were not so much fun that I just need to get the older 3 games for that much.
Vint73
I have a couple on the 3DS already, so I’ll wait until there’s a sale. I’m patient 😌
InsomniaEmperor
I keep hearing that Etrian Odyssey is one of the better DRPGS. I’ve played the Mary Skelter series and I wonder how this compares.
Manete_Aurum
I’m aware nobody will read this but each individual game is $40 on eShop and Steam.
Realistically you only would have to buy EO3 because there isn’t an Untold 3.
Hamlethal
Atlus has always been greedy as hell
IAmBLD
I just don’t get why I’d buy these over the 3DS versions I already own tbh.
ertaboy356b
I would buy it if it was the Untold Editions.

is it physical copy for 80$? then it would be worth kt if its like some deluxe box and has a booklet /art book
Spl4tB0mb
I mean, 3 games for 80 bucks is pretty okay imo. Haven’t playe any of them so I’d be interested to try.
Zinogrex
Been playing Strange Journey redux for the first time and really enjoying it. Going to check out one of these and see how it is.

> With this purchase, players will get 30+ hours of gameplay for Etrian Odyssey HD and 50+ hours for Etrian Odyssey II and III, plus free DLC portrait sets of popular characters from other ATLUS IP when they pre-order. That is a lot of content
By this logic why wasn’t Persona 5 Royal $90-100? I mean if it’s just about how many hours of content are in the game? P5R also came with a bunch of cosmetic dlc.
It’s $80 because they’re pretty sure people will pay it. It has nothing to do with how much content is in the collection. The fact that the 3DS eShop just shut down means there are no other avenues to (legally) obtain these games for a lower price.
Sanslution
80 DOLLARS?! What the fuck, I like Etrian Odyssey but not that much holy shit
OldThrashbarg2000
I’m still a little confused about what the EO1/2 remasters will be like. They’re not based on the Untold versions, but will they incorporate some stuff from those?
Super_Goomba64
World of Warcraft they should charge 1000$ because you can get 1000 hours of content from it! /s
Lanko8
It is three games plus some DLC portraits.
Honestly it’s the same I paid for Fire Emblem Fates, $40 for Conquest and $20 for each of the other two routes.
They better really market it good to make the 3 in 1 point across, as for anyone who never played it it’s a steep price for sure (as contrary to FE you can’t just choose to buy one route and not the others if you didn’t like it).
EDIT: Well, you can apparently buy each separately, for $40 each, so the bundle gives you a discount on that case, unless you end up not liking it… if you are not dying to play it wait for a Steam sale down the line…
Tuss36
While obviously if you have them already there’s little reason to get them again, having three full sized games for 80 bucks is like 30 bucks a pop individually, which would be a fair price. Now if it was a brand new game they’d need to do a lot to warrant that price point, but that doesn’t seem to be the situation in this particular case.
DarthScruf
Wow you can get Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10 and 10-2 (granted the US release so 10-2 is a code) in physical for that much, maybe even 12 too if you get a couple of them pre-owned or digitally on sale.
LikeTwentyBurritos
I don’t understand why it’s not the Untold versions. They’ve got more content and an actual story in addition to the barebone/blank slate versions of the games.
longbrodmann
It’s cute they think they’re Nintendo, pretty sure this game will get discount around six months.
jadenthesatanist
It seems like a lot of people don’t understand that these are HD remasters with QOL improvements added based on the later games in the series. They’re not just shitty raw ports with an $80 price tag slapped on. I do wish there was a NA physical release for it (although there is an English subbed Asian physical release coming) but as someone who doesn’t own the original trilogy and would like to, I’ll happily pay the $80 instead of the $400 total or whatever I’d have to spend hunting down all three original copies.
Skyesofrock
Most I’m seeing are outraged by this announcement, but they are having to re-engineer 3 full games to deliver on a different platform. They haven’t gone into specifics about how much work is going into these (how much of the original artwork is being used unchanged?) so $80/£72 for 3 full games, regardless of the age of the originals, doesn’t sound all that unreasonable to me.
idk, I don’t think we have enough of the details to say this is bad yet
KingVape
I would never pay $80 for a game. Any game.
But a game that was $4 on the 3DS? HELL no.
Deblebsgonnagetyou
$80 for a DS port…? No thanks.
Switch-Axe-Abuse
Glad I picked 1 and 2 up for super cheap on the 3ds eshop. $80 for 3 $20 ds games, really?
biradinte
Even for a collection price is kinda high imo. Labyrinth of Galleria is a similar style but more worthy
NickieBoy97
To be fair you’re getting 3 games in one. I personally think it should be priced at $60 essentially making each game $20 each.
I think lots of developers are seeing Playstation and Xbox increase their games from $60-$70 and they are just seeing if they can get away with it in Switch.
naturallyuglyfoyer56
Well, boys, it ain’t 6, but I’ll consider this port the prototype.
WatchDude22
Sorry, but $80 is too big an ask for a franchise I haven’t played before imo. If the made them available for $25-30 per that would attract a lot more players to at least try the first game
