Saw it a few hours ago and I loved how much they captured Mario and Luigi’s brotherly bond. They really appreciate and care for each other. My brother and I always played the games together and this was exactly how we always imagined them being. Overall a great movie experience, pleasantly surprised!

Honestly it’s just a really good time, and it exists to be nostalgia bait partially so criticising it for that is pointless. Defo not a movie with critics in mind

We took our almost 2 year old son and and our 3 year old to see it at the Alamo Drafthouse on Saturday. Weāve tried movies a few times before but the kids usually become restless or fall asleep 30-45 into the movie. Not this time, they were locked on to the movie the entire time, so much to where my son completely ignored the food that we ordered. When the movie finished they both full of energy and walked out the theatre.

I am 43 and have played Mario my whole like. The movie made me smile the whole time and had so many cool details. Loved it!

With the success of this movie. A sequel is definitely in bound. Looking forward to it. Jack Black as Bowser really stole it for me.

Had a blast with my boys, we dressed up in some basic outfits and everyone around us really got a kick out of it. The movie gives us so many Easter eggs for adults and kids it was fantastic.

Why was everyone so sure it would be trash initially though? That type of shit never affects my desire to see a movie. I was surprised to hear the early reviews were primarily labeling it as colorful garbage.

It was a fun enjoyable movie just wish it didnāt recycle the same jokes so much and it wasnāt just one, other then that would watch it again

I loved it. Being as I am in high-school, I grew up with mario. I didn’t play the original mario games until I got a bit older, but whenever I watched the movie I loved pointing out all the references. I also loved the remixes of the original music from the Mario games they did.

I swear, I was absolutely blown away with this movie. I would not hesitate, even for a moment, to say that this was one of my favorite animated movies ever made. Period.

This movie was fantastic. I hope they make a sequel focused on Luigi since I believe the mansion he arrived at in the darklands is referencing Luigi’s Mansion.
