This movie might actually hit the $1B mark! If it does, I’ll celebrate!

That’s an awesome shot of Toad. Can’t wait to see the movie tomorrow!

I know it wasn’t a “good” movie, but it was a fun one and very faithful. This gives Nintendo more confidence to hopefully adapt more series.

Not even out in Asia yet, think this will go close to the $1b mark. Massive success. Roll on the sequel!

Funny thing is, most companies would immediately try to rush out a sequel within two years to cash in on the success, but you just know Nintendo isn’t going to do that.
My guess: five years at the soonest. What does everyone else think?

$500M would no longer be guaranteed with a $58M second weekend. The $318 million 12-day total is less than Beauty and the Beast’s $335 million 12-day total (and $319 million 10-day total), which included a $90 million second weekend and just managed to surpass $500 million ($504 million total).
But everyone is aware of how quickly Mario’s standing improved last weekend. I continue to anticipate at least $70 million.

If I was Disney, I’d be shaking in my boots ‘bout now.
