    I’d be tempted to fork over the cash if we actually got normal minifigures for the Mario and DK cast but this is just goofy. If they ever do Zelda or other franchises in Lego hopefully they go the more traditional route.

    The mario Legos have been kinda underwhelming. I appreciate them for trying to do something different from the traditional lego style. But they should’ve done it with a pre established series that already had a bunch of lego sets. Not a new IP to their entire collection. This could also be a complete nintendo move on why they look like this

    Minifigs are overrated and the playfulness of the Mario line actually got me back into Lego. 90% of the charm is the character builds, which are almost always excellent! The only drawback is that the sets aren’t very displayable.

    Kinda disappointed they didn’t make DK an interactive character like Mario.

    I really don’t like what lego is becoming.

    Don’t get me wrong, donkey kong country on the snes and lego were my entire childhood but these sets feel nothing like lego.

    Maybe I’m too traditional but I don’t like how different these are to other sets

    Will I still buy them?
    Maybe but only because these two things were the best thing from growing up

    At this point they should make a Lego game with video game characters. Like Lego Dimensions drop the Warner IP’s and Skylanders aspects and add Devil May Cry, Kirby, and Spyro the Dragon etc
