During early development of Star Fox 2 on the SNES. Fara Phoenix from the Nintendo Power comic adaptation of Star Fox almost made the jump from the comics into an actual Star Fox game. A sprite of the character can be found in older versions of the game. Fara was later dropped and replaced by Miyu.
90s was the greatest decade.
I wish I kept all of my old Nintendo Powers.
I really like how Slippy looks like Mr.Toad, and everyone just looks less like a furry which is cool.
But it’s so weird to know they all have robot legs and they’re not just boots.
Now that’s the Slippy I remember!
It’s a shame they haven’t released the rest of these comics in a collected form.

I hope both this, and the Metroid Nintendo Power issues are someday sold in print like the Super Mario Adventures and Zelda A Link to the Past were.
This brings me back. I had a subscription to Nintendo Power pretty early on, starting with probably the 5th or 6th issue, and I have so many fond memories of the various comics/game adaptations they used to run: Howard & Nester, Super Mario Bros., A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and of course this awesome StarFox adaptation.

I really would like to see Nintendo give this the treatment they did with the Link to the Past comic that ran in Nintendo Power. I’d sure as heck buy it.
I don’t understand why people get so upset about their prosthetic legs. I thought they made the characters so much more interesting.
The General Pepper “I was just a seargant back then” gag is classic.
I remember reading the whole comic on arwinglanding.net i really love the artwork, has a gritty american comic book look that is just so unique for anything starfox related.
