Can’t remote raid after using a daily raid pass? Is this a new thing?

All I wanted was to get a genesect, but wasn’t strong enough on my own. Left the gym, right when a group showed up. But I couldn’t join their raid remotely?? Is that a new thing? For daily raid passes to location lock a raid battle? Niantic shattered my dreams not letting me use their over price remote raid pass.

Also just incase you didn’t know, your pass stays valid for that raid until it despawns. So even if you tried and failed it, upon seeing people, you could’ve rejoined ‘for free’ if you were ofcourse in range. Which I’m guessing you weren’t.
