If it weren’t for a particularly busy season at work that I can’t step away from at the moment, I would totally have otherwise taken some PTO today!

I’m just lucky they messed up the schedule at work and I have the day off lol

Anyone else took the Monday rather than the Friday?

One of my students didn’t come today and said that was why. Otherwise has great attendance so good on him.

I told my students that if anybody called in sick today, I wouldn’t believe them, but I also wouldn’t be mad.

Can confirm. I took today off and have been enjoying it quite a bit. It’s been fun comparing how I solve traversal or puzzles compared to my friend when he gets to the same spot.

I’ve never taken a day off work for a video game, until today. As soon as the release date was officially announced, I booked it off.
I’m about 5 hours in. Loving it so far.

I worked nights last night and it was the longest 12 hours ever. Got home, couldn’t sleep, eventually managed to get 3 hours and have played around 8 hours today but even though I was so tired it had my attention all the way and the only reason I stopped playing around 2 hours ago was because I was getting too tired and didn’t want to waste the experience as its just that good and I know I’ll only get the 1 chance to experience it for the first time.
Its gonna be so hard going back to work Monday!

I have over 200 hours of PTO. I can afford to take a day off to play games. lol I’m about 4 hours in and really enjoying it.

More power to the people who do this, but all my PTO is saved up for long trips, conventions, and actual doctor’s visits

A day off? Amateurs, a week off is mandatory

Envious of all y’all
I’m too slammed at work to get a vacation, never mind a day for a game

Dammit NPR, I hope my boss doesn’t see this

Relatively new at my job so I couldn’t do it but damn I wish I could.

I just stayed up all night and went to work anyway, I’m dead rn.

Have fun everyone playing TotK.

Bought it last night and “took the day off to play it” (that’s what I told my wife).
Instead I surprised her by spending the day with her to “prove I love her more than Zelda.”
It was a fun day, but I did play for 2 hours last night and thought it was absolutely monumental. So… I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some FOMO. Sorry dear.

I unintentionally took the day off, had to get surgery and it was done by 11am. Stopped at GameStop on the way home and been playing ever since.

I’ve taken off the whole of next week. I’m a 32-year-old woman. My colleagues think I’m nuts.

They’re not if they preordered off Amazon
bythisaxe
I had a half day today and was really looking forward to playing it. I wanted a physical copy and made the mistake of preordering from Amazon. My copy is in town. It was at an Amazon facility just a few minutes from my house at 4:30 this morning, but there was no update on it all day until just now. Now it’s expected to arrive tomorrow or Sunday. Pretty disappointed, but I’m not gonna let it ruin my day or anything, and I’m definitely never going to preorder anything from Amazon again.

My work was like fuck you dude you’re working

Didn’t take off. Just made sure my light stayed green on Teams while I WFH. Work can get done on Monday 🙂

I got laid off a few weeks ago, which is a double edged sword, because while I do have the time to play I’m not dropping $70 on a game until I have a job again. (The game is totally worth the money imo, just not a good choice for me rn) I am really looking forward to a Saturday after a long week where I can play in my PJs all day.

Every Friday night is movie night bedtime at my house. We set the kids up in their sleeping bags on the living room floor, put on a movie about half an hour before bedtime, and chill as a family.
I mayyyyy have convinced them that tonight we watch Zelda. We’ll see if it works.

This was the first time I’ve had the luxury of being able to use PTO for a video game release (thanks state gov. job!) and you better believe I took advantage of it!
The opening sequence was phenomenal, the title title screen was every bit as good as BotW (if not better), and that’s all I can really say right now because I’m still incredibly early in the game.
me047
I mean who can afford a real vacation right now? Hyrule is the best some of us can do.
