Hmm. I was actually considering buying this, since it looks cool IMO, and I’m a fan of dbrand skins. Their skins are high-quality, durable, easy to apply, and do not damage the joy-cons on removal like some skins can. I’ve had 100% positive transactions with them so far.
However, I was immediately turned off once I found out about their hidden message on the dock skin. I don’t mind their style of humor in their marketing, but including that front-and-center on the product itself? Every time I look at that dock skin, I will see “GO **** YOURSELF LAWYERS” and “THIS FUNDS OUR LEGAL DEFENSE”. The glyphs are too similar to English to miss once you know — and that’s just not something I can accept on what should be a respectable skin. The joke would be fine in the marketing materials, but not on the product itself.
Too bad, since I like their alternate take on the left joy-con, using black instead of green. Oh well, still a big fan of dbrand skins — I just hope that in the future, they will separate their edgy jokes from skins which should be serious/reverential (or at least hide them better). IMO it would have been much nicer if the glyphs were references to Zelda lore instead of jabs at Nintendo.

Interesting how they’re knocking the special edition switch while also selling glorified stickers for $50 🙂
Nintendo lawyers incoming lol.
“The Power of Plagiarism” lol
$50 bucks for stickers? Hard pass.
I bought the animal crossing ones before they got yanked and just realized I never put them on my console. I think I’ll pass on these ones haha.
